Oh come on, the thread title is "Rabbit lost his head". How can you post a serious response to that?

As a guy who's daughter has a rabbit, I find all of these tasteless comments........ Hilarious!

The rabbit has free range of our deck- He won't go down the stairs, so we let him run freely. We have woods surrounding out house, so someday, if he ever goes missing, we will assume he joined other wild rabbits, and decided to live in his natural surroundings.

My daugher named the rabbit "Cocoa". So if you find any 'Cocoa-Puffs' around our house, don't eat them!

Look, we all loose our heads from time to time. What's important is what we learn from the experience, so that we can grow as individuals. At these times, we have an opportunity to become better people, and that's really all that matters.

it is strange that the head was chewed off. were i a predator of rabbits i think i'd be focusing on the meatier parts. but then i've seen the type of rabbits you guys have over there and think i'd just beg for spam rather than risk my life with such dangerous critters.

Hmmm, at first I thought it might be a Fox, but the Fox would have taken the whole body.
A Cat could kill a rabbit, but would it be worth the effort and chance of injury to itself?
A Stoat on the other hand kills by biting at the neck, and eating what it can.

Hopefully Mr Stoat will meet Mr Fox tonight

My Daughter wants a rabbit in the worst way. I have had them it's tough when that happens I kind of want to save her the grief.

I tell her that rabbits are the snickers bars of the animal world. Every critter likes to eat them. If they were tougher they would not be so cute.

I figure that God created rabbits simply to feed the carnivores. All they do is multiply, and get eaten.

there was just an article in the newpaper here
saying rabbit is healthy, 66% unsaturated fat's and amino acids , linol acid, alfalinol acid, dha,
stuff you normally only find in fish, rarely in meat..
it's also low in natrium high in iron & Vitamin B12

it did mention bred rabbit, snuffed at at 12 weeks old, before they start storing fat
the rear legs are the best, low fat, low calories
and to remove excess fat at the rump before cooking

http://www.nieuwsblad.be/Article/Detail.aspx?ArticleID=HT1OFL1R

oh, and did i mention that rabbit is tasty?
stewed in a brown abbey beer, carrots, a loaf of bread and mustard...

Real good !

I think you could tell the kids the rabbit died/was killed. Tho' I would skip the "headless" part.

Sorry to hear about your bunny's demise. We had various lop rabbits, but our favorite was a dutch rabbit we had for 8 years. He would hang out in the backyard and never run away. He stayed out all day and one day he was gone. We missed him and got a ferret.
