Rabbit lost his head .

We let the rabbit have the run of the garden all day and at night always put him in his cage nice and safe.

Always a bit of a struggle getting him in because he is so used to his freedom.

So last night I am sick as a pig, vomiting, diarrhoea, just desperate to get to bed.

Goes out to get Flopsy and he is running all over the place. I thought bollocks to this he will be ok outside for one night.

Shouts him this morning, no sign. There in the corner of the garden, the rabbit with his head bit off. So this is me, come home to bury the bloody rabbit.

Do I tell my 3 little kids Flopsy has found a girlfriend and run off, or some Stoat took him?

Moral of the story.....put the pets away no matter what

I done a bad thing an' George won't let me tend no rabbits now.

Sorry to hear about Flopsy's demise. Tell the kids that he died, and that it's just a sad fact of life, and that you'll get them another rabbit as soon as you're no longer sick.

Tell them the truth...

Rabbit was killed by stoat/ mink...

New rabbit on its way.

When we're out in the woods and find piles of feathers etc J who is now six recognises that a bird died and soembody ate it..

Basic facts of life.

Sure a bit more difficult with a pet but in the end it is the most effective way forward..

Wow, that sucks. No head huh? Strange. You would think that if something was gonna eat it, the legs would be the better choice. I guess there is no accounting for taste.

Are you sure it wasn;t a hate crime?

Seems to me one could, with a bit of searching, find a VERY similar looking rabbit.

I thought some of the comments made were in very bad taste.

Very very possible KT. Maybe guys without kids, who knows?

But the odd nice comment far outweighs the bad.

I would have to agree with this course of action myself. Poor kids. Poor you...all riddled with guilt now.

Tell them that flopsy met an evil rabbit. The most foul, cruel, and bad-tempered creature you ever set eyes on.

/sorry, couldn't resist.

I had not even considered the Rabbit of Caerbannog!!!!

A bandmate of mine came home one day and found that his daughter's bunny had passed away in it's hutch. Not wanting to "dispose of the body" at that time, he thought he'd put the littke bunny in a big zip lock bag and place it in the freezer to have a "proper burial" later on. Well, his wife called during one of our breaks that evening to inform him that his little daughter had found "bunny" while helping Mom cook supper. Man, I felt bad for him!
