I'd believe it. It doesn't take much to total a car these days - the value of the parts is often greater than the "value" of the car by 2-3 times.

Plus insurance companies love to total cars - it makes it easier on them (less potential fights with clients/body shops/scammers/etc.) and it encourages people to buy new cars, which means more $$$ for them.

If sliding on that relatively flat patch of grass bent the frame then that car would never survive a mile on NY roads.

In the picture in the Sun article the body seems to be pretty tweeked the front fender looks like it no longer lines up.

I have to laugh because in Lewis' Top Gear interview he said his dad likes to think he is a better driver than him.

That's what I was looking at too... it appears to be a minor slide across the grass, and then some damage that is obviously BUSH's fault

It's truly amazing to me how many people manage to crash one of these cars. It's equally amazing that they usually do it on a straight stretch of road, while showing off. Morons.

As to the totalling of the CGT, I supose it would be fairly easy to do with any structural damage to the carbon moncoque.

Anyone know the current list price on that part?
