Typical "911" Porsche Owner Questions Arranged by Model Year:

Old Cars (1960s - 1973): "How do I get the putty out of the cracks, so I can strip the entire body of rust and repaint it?"

2.7L engine cars (1974-1977): The car has 80,000 miles on it and I think the bearings are burnt up and the valves are broken in half. Could this be due to the thermal reactors? Also, I parked the car in a grassy field the other day and it started a range fire.

SC's: I thought these cars were trouble free, but my clutch blew up and the mechanic wants ______ to fix everything.

Carrera 3.2L: Gee, this thing has lots of torque… Hey, wait a minute, this car is as heavy as sin… What happened… is this still a 911 they’re making?

964's: How can I put a 993 engine in a 964? or When I open the passenger door, the interior courtesy lights and key chime don't come on until about 10-15 seconds have elapsed. What’s wrong?

993's: Is there anyway to get more power without spending $5,000 for the special air mass sensor kit?

996's: Does anyone know where I can buy a carbon fiber cup holder?

Randy...I never asked that "old car" question...and never will. Silly as it sounds, I usually thought of the old '72 as still new...

(edit)...this in from Evren this morn. Gotta take care of original paint...it pleases me to know that the beat goes on. He even kept my name for the car...wow.

"I figure if I can get everything sorted out on Saturday I can even spend Sunday relaxing with Nina, and washing and waxing her...",

(edit again) Ford Ranger Forum: "What the hell honey, it's only a cheap pickup. The interior isn't bad, so let's spend five bucks and run it through the car wash on our way to dinner."

Rat Rod Forum - Is there anyway to INCREASE the rust I already have started? (Too much paint left to attend car show next month without embarrassment!)

Well, YOUR car was "new" or seemed to be.
