well, i can accept that people with loud exhausts are being less than curtious, especially if revving needlessly and at bad hours of the morning or night... but punk or poser just because of loud pipes? come on. those people are 1%ers. most people that have the balls to get on a bike and ride down the highway with cars and trucks are doing it because they love it. the feel, the sound, the wind. yea there are some that do not know what they are getting into and they eventually die, or sell

i dont get this crap about calling people with harley's and loud pipes posers or people with loud stereo systems punks.

i live in a condo complex and always am careful to not high rev until im out on the roads away from the neighbors. on the highway, thats a different story.

i like my music loud and my pipes loud. it gets me off, sorry for being selfish

Lots of people DON'T like loud noises. They are entitled to reasonable peace and quiet.
Just because you like loud noises DOES NOT give the the right to take away their rights. It's more than selfishness. It's more than a total lack of consideration for those around you. It's anti-social behavior that is manifested from a deeper psychological problem. And it's wrong.

I actually ride mine, I did about 500 miles last week commuting. I don't run straight pipes, but have done some work to mine and have some true duals on it, eliminating the crossover pipe. I had it dyno tuned by a local shop / builder here, and it runs significantly better than stock. I also still get about 42 mpg cruising at about 75-80 mph.

With that being said, I rarely if ever get on it heavily around town. I also never start it in the garage, since even stock it was pretty loud when it echoed, etc.

When the wastegate opens in my 911 turbo, I think its about as loud as the HD.

This thread made me laugh today when I saw two Harleys cut off this morning by a pick up truck. One revved up the engine, the other honked. It was a pretty clear cut case of the pick up driver being an idiot and not paying attention despite the fact that they were NEXT to him at the light before. People are idiots. You all are wound too tight. Acceleration from a stand still and revving the engine make the same noise through the mechanicals.

Make it loud bikers and I'll join you but only if we agree up front - you start shooting at the ones in front and work your way back. I'll start at the other end and we'll work our way toward the middle.

I'm sorry if shooting loud bikers sounds selfish but we shooters just love our noise.
