problem is, these bad guys get caught in Mexico anf go to prison, but if they have enough cash they can sometimes buy their way out by paying off corrupt guards or officials. then it's right back accross our border to commit more crimes, knowing they have realtively safe haven just accross the border.

When someone commits murder in the US and is found in Mexico, we want them back. Mexico won't give them back unless we promise not to go after the death penalty. I sometimes question all the expense involved but that's typically how it goes.

Well, I agree with the rest of you, why's he still around. Actually though, I'm almost surprised that at least one person hasn't had a different opinion. Frankly, I don't see how you could, but still, idiots do.

I wonder about the folks who are wring their hands and protesting this would feel if it was their wife, sister, mother, daughter.

I think the main issue with anti-death penalty folks is the financial cost of an execution and endless court appeals vs. life in prison.

BTW, if Obama picks Tim Kean for VP, look for this to become an issue (again). Kean is a staunch anti-death penalty type, but swore he'd apply the law in VA, which is a hardcore death penalty state, probably more so than TX and FL.

I love the victim's families who pray on the TV news for the perp to do the right thing and turn himself in.

If someone killed/raped/whatever a member of my family, I'd say something like you better hope the police catch you first, if you're tried and convicted, I'll make sure you die in prison one way or another. If you're aquitted and I still believe you did it, you will not live on the streets very long.

Because they will escape justice. No guarantee they will be incarcerated in Mexico and we know they won't be executed.

Cool. if it were up to me there wopuld be about 500 needles.
All of them would contain regular saline solution except one, the one with the poison.

When the time comes inject one of the needles. If he doesn't die, wait 5 minutes and then do another one. Kinda liek a long drawn out game of russian roulette. It's be a fun drinking game for the audience, vegas would have a field day with it, and it would make the scumbag suffer a little longer.
Or, just put enough in the needle to make him sick and pass out. when he woke up, tell him "april fools, we're still gonna killa ya".

That boy aint right.

I'd have no problem starving him to death, burying him alive or just flaying him.

I have done cut-downs , normally we use a scapel and try real hard to stay sterile.
I will gladly help this fat f**k..no need to worry about infections ,

Texas executes Mexican-born killer
By MICHAEL GRACZYK – 33 minutes ago

HUNTSVILLE, Texas (AP) — Texas has executed Mexican-born condemned prisoner Jose Medellin for the rape and murder of two teenage girls 15 years ago.

The state carried out the execution late Tuesday night after the U.S. Supreme Court rejected his request for a reprieve in a split vote.

The 33-year-old Medellin had claimed he was denied treaty-guaranteed help from the Mexican consulate when he was arrested.

Texas authorities say he never invoked his consular rights until four years after he was arrested. By then, he had been convicted and condemned for participating in the attack on 16-year-old Elizabeth Pena and 14-year-old Jennifer Ertman.

If I were one of the guards leading him from his cell to the death chamber, I would've said "Dude! The Governor stayed your execution!"

Then, as we entered the death chamber, I would've said "Psych! Gimme five!"

Less garbage in the world right now. Good on Texas.

I swear, Texas is sounding more and more appealing every day...

See what you can accomplish when you don't let your own hands be tied with stupid political correctness/pandering to hand-wringing ninnies?

Good.
