What kind of FAL did you get? Who made the receiver, inch or metric?

Wideners has/had some good Privi 7.62x51 ball ammo, around $105 delivered for 200 rounds...

redbeard look at sturmgewehr.com always sumthang there.

note: buy an HK not a cetme. also when buying HK ask owner if rollers have ever been changed. why? cuz its a damn good if not an exact indicator of useage, kind of like compression check on our 911's.

now if yer really eager to light up countryside............

check out mi amigo ralph smith at rdts.com hk guru bar NONE!

ralph jes went thru my hk. owned since i was around 20 yrs old. medium amount of shooting over the years. i made mistake of buying buffertechnolgies poly razz ma taz buffer and installed. im 51 now!

over the years i angst about buying psg1 adj stock vey pricey then and now. hks designed for smaller guys than me. im 6'3 215 with long arms. when i mounted arms QD scope mt and leupold 6x scope, my cheek set wasnt right. always bobbed and weaved to get sight picture. bought e&l cheek piece and adj butt piece from val at E& L(friend of ralph at rdts. this werked ok.

along comes magpul. magpul comes up with damn near a spittin image of psg1 adj stock. bought from hkparts fer $250 bucks.

foaming at mouth to install and it turns into kluster fuch because of old oem hk buffer not fitting and buffertechnolgies buffer not fitting magpul. decided what the hell..............LETS MASSAGE THE HELL OUTTA DA HK AT RDTS.COM!

dropped off with ralph. ralph checked headspace. NO BUENO! over years buffer technolgies buffer wasnt kosher and thereby we had some wear on rollers. so ralph slapped in some +4 rollers headspaced/tuned/honed/massaged/jerked on my hk and mounted magpul adj cheek and butt stock.

FREEKING WUNDERBAR! no more bob and weave for site picture, fits me for length of pull like a custom mcmillian. this being with leupold 6x fixed which is about 2 shipping days away from being replaced with zoommy uber snooty HENSOLDT(military division of zeiss) .308 bullet drop compensated iluminated mil dot, FERO Z model III BUILT FER HK SCOPE von cheaper thandirt.com in tejas .

cant freeking wait!

so should you buy hk.....................check DER ROLLERS FER WEAR!

ralph handed me back an HK i never thought could be that clean. within hour of receiving sat. cracked a beer and tore down to firing pin. this is my backup elk rifle so i figured it would be prudent to make sure all was kosher. and it went bang when it should.

man i could EAT OFF OF IT!

ralphsmith is GOD/GURU/BUDDAH of HK ORGAZZZZZMMMS!

That's not nearly enough firepower. Once Obama takes over, those who do not have at least a couple of .50 cal machine guns mounted on a mobile turret will be overtaken very quickly.

some of you are propably wondering a coupla thangs........................

YES I CAN AND WILL BECAUSE I CAN(legally) use my SOCOM M1-A and my M1-A SUPER DUPER ARRINGTON SUPER DUPER MATCH and my super duper secret stealth uber snoootty RDTS.com massaged HK-91 mit der HENSOLDT FERO Z24 GE-SCOPEN fur our upcomin 3-BULL TAG ELK HUNT!!!!!

why? poor-kay???

because covering lots of miles bouncing the snot out of a highly tuned excruciating expensive mcmillian/leupold rifle is not good for it, on a quad. fine tuned scoped rifles are meant for walking.............PERIOD! way too spendy , wayyy too much time finding zero and correct ammo poured into them.

azgfd laws ALLOW any semi-auto black green pink red yellow von any country to be used in the LAWFUL/LEGAL pursuit of game as long as you use and only have in possesion FIVE (5) ROUND CLIPS! letter of the law ALLOWS 5 rd clip inserted into weapon and (1) JUAN round in pipe(chamber) fer a total of SIX (6) in weapon. hollowpoints ONLY! NO FMJ's/armor piercing/NO TRACERS! all my .308's use ONLY FEDERAL MATCH 168GR BOAT TAIL HOLLOWPOINTS! PERIOD!

i'll bounce the hell outta the m-1's, the hk, all day long all night long. but a bolt scoped rifle like my mcmillian M40-A1 or my mcmillian winchester model 70 in .338..................THEMS WALKING RIFLES and they do not like BEING HAMMERED TO DEATH IN A CASE OR ON THE HANDLEBARS OF A QUAD! ask me how i know.

yer zero being changed by hammering the snot out of it riding over rocky terrain can SUCK BIG TIME when it comes for the shot of a lifetime on a bull elk.

i have literally covered my m-1 winchester carbine with mud one very snowy wet snot slinging MUDDY deer hunt south of the grande canon(grand hole in ground). only thing that didnt have mud snow slush snot on it was muzzle due to me placing a rubber on muzzle. this was on rack on handlebars of quad. mud flying everywhere no mattter how fast or slow you went. i was covered in the crap.

so remember ....................evil/black ELK ASSAULT rifles fer quad use when covering big hunt units. and bolt actions FOR WALKING!

our hunting lineup this year::::

me on quad with hk-91 or socom.
me walking -with winchester .338

son on quad with either socom or hk-91
son walking- with marlin(nelson ford action job-2 finger lever-like butter) stainless 1895/leupold 3x9 45/70

follically challenged hunting amigo on quad w/fn/fal
follically challenged hunting amigo walking with .300 weatherbeeeeeeeee magnum.

all three of us carrying .45's. (2) springfields and (1) kimber(follically challenged guy).

(3) BULL ELK TAGS
(1) MOUNTAIN LION TAG(lots of them in this unit)

Thinking about one here too...

I picked up a really cool Steyr M95 yesterday but ammo is a PITA to get for it - and pricey. I ordered a bunch, but I'm probably not going to shoot that one too much - maybe 20-50 rounds just to sight it in and then put it on display/keep around if ever needed.

Mostly I got it for collectible reasons, but those 8x56 rounds pack a pretty mean whallop too - although way too expensive to shoot regularly. The M1 .30 is also a bit expensive, but the ammo is a lot easier to source at least.

I'm not that expert on M1s so wondering what the "best" variant is - probably a Springfield .30? Garand? There are a ton of different ones out there.

I have an M1, a Service grade CMP, for I think $550. After a good cleaning, it works great.

To me, the M1A is what I want. I just can't find one I can afford at the moment.

There are two at my local Big-5 right now (including one I've been mulling over for a while). I could go down, buy you one and then transfer it to your FFL as a person-to-person transfer if you want to go that route. Just let me know. It's kind of a circuitous way to do it, but at least you'd get your M1.

Pretty sure they're M1As but I'll have to run down there tomorrow and double-check for you. Hell, I guess I can put off those new 911 plug wires for another few weeks and get another gun instead...
