boxster

Mike, lets see the seaplane in the hanger, thats got some appeal for sure.
....And dont worry a "widebody" has no chick appeal......hehehe

Just talked to a friend who has a boxster. He says the motors intermediate shafts have problems if you get a bad one...watch out, you are one turn of the key away from a major melt down should it fail. Kind of like taking Vioxx...either you feel great or drop over from a heart attack.

For those afraid of the girly image of the Boxster there is the hetero camoflage kit known as the Cayman.

With all due respect to the Boxster, I know it can more than keep up with my 911 and has really good balance in corners. You won't mess up your shorts if you have to lift in a corner with a Boxster either.

Total girlie car!!!!

Also look up the Top Gear test on the Cayman on you tube. They say its the most boring Porsche EVER!!! But they do say the Boxster is a heap of fun.

I cant deny they are fun...but so are fat girls and I wouldnt want to be caught on one of those either!

I looked at a 09 S last Saturday. Looked damn serious to me. 3.4 liter, 310 HP, I would say the real deal. I am going to test drive one next time I get a mid-week day off.

I've owned many iterations of Porsches and a Boxster S would look real nice next to my trusty SC.

Recently talked to a used car dealer who subspecialized in Porsche. He suggested that the Boxster engines were prone to break. An otherwise interesting and enjoyable car, IMHO, if reliability , durability and expenses are not taken into consideration. I'd only try it if can find a cheap one in very good condition.

You must like the "knees next to the ears" driving position...absolutely not enough legroom for me...

I put 305 miles on it and enjoyed every second. Of course, it is a totally different driving experience from an air-cooled 911. That does not make it bad... just different.
Dude,
You rented a Boxter in SFO, and then drove it towards the Russian River? Rent a Miata and drive to Fire Island too?

of all the new model porsches, to me the boxster has the nicest looking interior.

the interiors of all the other new models are to me (including the cayman), are freakin ugly and embarrassing, especially the gauge clusters. what did they do to the 911 cluster...man o man

i think the boxster's gauge cluster is still very cool looking. i recently saw a new boxster at the dealer with beautiful orange leather interior. it stopped me in my tracks and then i looked at the price...close to $80,000. I spent a good deal of time just admiring the entire package. i was very impressed

this whole the boxter is gay crap is about as lame as can be. i laughed good at the above comments though... but i dont get where that comes from. it looks like a badazz sports car to me in the right color. nice and small. in fact, when i really stop and admire the lines of the car, i think its one of the coolest looking cars on the road...very subtle but well done..the way the 944 is subtle but perfect in appearance

as for performance, i think we all know that the boxster is superb in handling

The first-gen (986) models were decidedly more "feminine" in appearance than the 911 (soft curves without aggressive lines). Today's 987 Boxster/Cayman have been facelifted to lose that "soft" look and appear more masculine.

I didn't, until I drove one. My wife was looking for a car and we had it narrowed down to a Lexus SC430 and a Boxster S. After we drove both, it was no contest. Personally, I don't see the girl car thing.

I wouldn't buy one for myself because it has no soul, but it's a great looking car.

Nice butt too.

Exactly RIGHT.
