Glen, tell me some of the ones you posted are photoshops. They just can't be real. Can they?

Wow! I've been in new construction for the past 20 years, but have never see that kind of carnage.

found almost the same in the ceiling of a bar I was remodeling. Clipped off the wires about 6 inches long outside the box, named it the Octopus and hung it on the wall next to the walrus penis the guy had up there already.

Hey, I just pass them along. I did not take them, I got them in an email. I would bet they are real.

Not for heat...that guy bought the "home kit" or "do-it-yourself" recirculation hot water kit. Basically every faucet will have hot water waiting at it when you turn on the hot water with this system. My home as it but it was built in with copper pipe when the home was made. When I turn on the faucet it instantly has hot water because my hot water is constantly recirculating back to the water heater.

This guy bought that kit at homedepot I believe.

Notice the sections of rigid steel pipe are black. You don't find that at home depot but I've seen that all over a construction site when the fire sprinkler guys are running their lines. It'd also explain the over abundance of unions and 90s

My anti-virus program declared that site as unsafe and closed the browser. I have never seen it do that on any other site.

Go poke around some residential remodels some time. Residential is absolutely bottom-of-the-barrel. You wouldn't believe some of the stupid crap that cheap owners can scab together. Unpermitted work abounds a lot more than people realize.

I saw a lot of this kind of stuff when we were house/condo shopping in CA a couple of years ago. I'm sure the combination of a housing bubble, lots of el cheapo residential "developers"/flippers, an endless supply of illegal labor and a paucity of Inspector resources at the time created a sort of perfect storm for a lot of this stuff.

I've seen a few questionable things in commercial construction too, but the vast majority of the scary stuff is residential. And yes, it's really out there.

Sure you do! One of those 18"-24" sections is what I use for a cheater. Fit's the 1/2 breaker bar perfectly and.. I got it at HD.

This Jiffy Popcorn maker, ala smoke detector was a crack up. However, there is some limited reasoning to the madness.

Apparently, popcorn expands at approx. 365ºF, well below the auto ignition temperature of typical building materials, e.g. wood = 572º.

As a fire detector, this might work, especially if the trajectory of the 300 deg. kernels targets a charred but slumbering face. However, as a smoke detector, this new application gets a big L. Deadly smoke is created at much lower temperatures. Orville Redenbacher never promised this much.

I've spent hundreds of hours in a few HDs and never seen em there. All they have around here are grey galvanized rigid pipe

OK, I can understand this one. Code says you have to have two urinals. You've got 3 male employees and 8 females, but code says a single toilet in the ladies room is fine but the guys have to have a toilet and two urinals. This may not be the result of bad execution, it may be bad regulations and an f-you attitude on the part of the owner. Been there and done that.

I figured it was either to practice your bank shot, or to practice your threesome aim.
