Use at your own risk, but I put my smartphone (after dropping it in the hot tub) in a bowl of rice (battery out) and placed that in the oven @ 185 - 190 degrees for five hours. Popped right back to life.
Use at your own risk.

If its still wet, drop it in distilled water and drip dry. You have nothing to lose.
I have to ask what the condition of the toilet was. ![]() ![]() Personally, I think 190 degrees is a lot for an electronic device, but I'm glad it worked out. |

Yea, I offer no scientific backup for my process. I just tried to imagine the warmest a phone might get while sitting on the dash of a car in Arizona or something and added a bit. I figured they must have failure tested for that and the safety factor is usually quit large. Mine showed no signs of heat trauma at all.

Mine took a dunk, tried the usual tricks, no love. You rolls the dice and you takes your chances though...good luck.
You haven't gotten to the best part yet, though. Wait'll you find out how much they wanna charge you for a new phone...

Let it sit and dry for several days(take the battery out of course)...it should be fine.

Agreed. Whatever you do don't try to power it up while it's still got moisture inside.

Don't flush!!!!
Sniper is correct give it a few days.. All circuit boards are cleaned with water after flux soldering.. water won't hurt it as long as you let it dry out. Speaker and microphone might be shot however

I have a friend who is a detailer. The guy drops his phone in a carwash bucket at least once a month. So far he's been able to save it every time by removing the battery and letting it dry.
I suggested he stop putting it in his hoodie pockets, but he's thickheaded. LOL. |

The other thing about the iPhone is no user-removable battery.
![]() Hey, that reminds me, snipe! If you don't believe in credit cards, do you have a cell-phone? Pay-as-you-go? Also, Kevin; I think in order for us to help you you must post a picture of your daughter. Good luck!

I think the iPhone has a "moisture" type sensor in it--once it's triggered there is no fix. I may have even read that on this board. A girl I know got mugged and they took her iPhone--replacement cost was like $600--that was for an 8 gig. Yowza.

Boost and Metro PCS, probably some others. But you can get Verizon and all the big ones with a debit card now too, i think. Quote:

the iPhone has moisture sensors so apple knows to deny warranty coverage for phones that have been damaged by moisture. The moisture sensor does not, by itself, disable the phone.
Letting the iPhone dry out may not work, since there aren't a lot of openings. But worth a try. I'd use very low or no heat, a fan, and figure you have at best a 50-50 shot. Do not power it up for at least 2-3 days. |

Soak it in pure rubbing alcohol, then let it dry under a fan.

You have to watch out for the plastic face. Alcohol can cause certain plastics to crack.
