It has wheels, an engine, goes fast. Whats the problem??

As previously stated above, not my cup of tea. But another cyclist on the road is ok by me.

As long as we agree they're not motorcycles.

Does it make any difference for/to you guys if the trike leans? The MP3 posted above leans, the Harley and CanAm trikes do not.

My thought - if you're going to have a motorcycle-based trike, why not a sidecar rig?

Or, why not a low CG machine with wide flat tires that is actually designed to corner without leaning - like the CanAm.

OK. I amend my declaration: motorcycles with sidecars are acceptably cool, even for the able-bodied. The other trikes still remain ghey.

Thumbs up

This is the first year that Harley is offering factory trikes.
Before you had after market conversions like Lehman but it voided the warranty and not all dealers would work on them.
Now all the trike riders are trading in their trikes for factory serviceable rides.

I’m sure no one on this board would mind being seen on this trike.

knew a girl with an inner ear/balance problem. somehow she was able to work a sidecar though.

have always wanted an old BMW with a sidecar. i could finally have a dog.

have never understood trikes. seems to maximize the disadvantages of cars and bikes.

Agree. Most of the dangers of exposure and lack of conspicuity, but without the slimness and maneuverability of a two-wheeled bike.

I have several patients who have them, every single one has some physical or neurologic challenge that prevents them from riding a two wheeler anymore. It was sell it or turn it into a trike. I guess it is tough to give up the scoot after riding it a few score years. None of them could bear to do it to an old bike though

An entire 'Panzer division' of those were in the Branson Missouri area last weekend.

Each one, ridden (sat upon?) by 50-60 YO baby-boomers.

It rained ...a LOT!

Amusing.

Yep

I don't begrudge anyone riding/driving whatever floats their boat... but those things look downright dangerous... you get all the vulnerability of a motorcycle with out the maneuverability.

I often see 55-65yo wives on the back of a Gold Wings and they never look like they're have much fun. They can't read, can't knit, can't sleep, can't watch TV. They gotta hate it.
They just are sitting there looking at cars drive by and at hubby's neck.
