Didn't like the sleep numbers. We had them, Seemed great at first, but realized back pains went away when on vacation. Good firm mattress feel much better now.

Another fine day for home improvement. Raining on and off. If it was sunny, I'd probably be out playing hookie.

My user name actually comes from an old Budweiser commercial with 2 lizards.
I used to say"Oh,haha!" to my best friend's daughter when she was a toddler and she would laugh like mad. I told her that if I ever bought a 911 like her Dad's I would have the saying on my license plate. I kept my word when I bought the SC. The plate is in a box with my other old plates, including "PORSCHA" which was on the car until the day I sold it.

Morning Y'all.
Wayne the reason I have to have a number bed is my neck never healed right when I broke it and it gives me some issues, I like a hard mattress. Beth has a few mucked up discs and likes a soft mattress, there is no one that suits both of us and we do actually still sleep together after all these years

My wife has been hinting at us getting one of those mattresses. I just don't see the need but we don't have back/neck issues like others.
My mom still has the mattress that they bought in the 70's.

We have the sleep number mattress. They are spendy, but like most couples I prefer a different setting than the Mrs. My only complaint is the controllers. For both sides of the bed the controllers display is dead. We have to just guess about the setting by how the bed feels. For the price of the mattress, those controllers should last longer.

Hopefully, the base molding will all be installed today and we can do a little touch-up painting to complete the project. We can the move our furniture to their proper locations. Who knows...one of these days this place will be ready to move in to!

I have slept on a sleep number bed in hotels. One was a king size and I set the two sides different to see which I liked better. Never decided.
Richard, we are set up with our VMs so we could lose a host and still not be overloaded. Sorry for not being clear in my humor yesterday, I was on Pink Floyd.

Think my mattress is over 40 years old, actually think it is older than I am and has plywood between the boxsprings and mattress. Had a waterbed in the 80's for a while until I woke up swimming. Then went back to the old mattress.
Couple of years ago friend and his wife tried all kinds of mattresses and ended up getting a waterbed. They really like it. Didn't know they still even made them. Always thought the ultimate mattress would be a combination waterbed with a sleep number mattress on top. The founder of the company I work for had one like that and he really liked it. Have no idea where he got it, but do know it was very very expensive. Chiro says a sleep number is best for setting to keep your back aligned. Says rest are hit or miss for getting it right.

I think the best place to sleep would be in orbit.
My problem is what is comfortable while on my back hurts my hips when I sleep on my side. I had a waterbed for many years but we switched when we moved back to WI. She liked it firmer than I so we compromised on a conventional mattress that was awesome but they don't stay awesome long enough. It is only 8 years old.

Yep, if you have your servers setup correctly it should be working just like a local data center without the network lag or expense required for faster access. I don't think people understand the actual costs of running fast enough internet to keep cloud services running fast enough to do any good.
When I had the media server setup in my department (before we got a networking "guru") it used multiple servers and network connections/switches connected to the fiber raids to get maximum transfer for up to 5 people pulling down large files at the same time. To the users access was as fast as their local hard drives. I thought it was pretty cool that users could edit videos on a server after I got done with it. Network guy they hired had no idea about media access and redid everything for just normal networking and killed all the high speed access. Glad I am not involved in that anymore. Amazes me how people change things just to change them. The users still remember when they had real access to the servers though. The supervisor and people using the servers basically had no say in the changes. Stupid, if you ask me. I also had a 2 Macs running as internet routers with multiple ISPs, up to 4. It ran some really cool software called Intergate. It did way more than the cisco pix we use now. The intergate setup ganged our internet connections so both upload and download was as fast as all the IPS connections put together. Had it setup so it did what I call poor man's border protocol. If any of the IPS's connections failed it would route all the traffic thru the other IPS's until it came back up. The trick is to re-route incoming traffic due to DNS. The network guy got rid of the macs because he claimed they weren't secure. The pix has been hacked several times now. The Macs ran for over 10 years and never got hacked. What the heck do I know, I'm just a family member that has a title position and doesn't know what I am talking about.

Our previous bed was a tube based water bed. There were like 6 separate plastic tubes each with their own amount of water in them. For a firmer side just fill those tubes up more. It had a thick foam rubber top and a heater for the water.
It worked OK but it still would spring an leak in one tube every so often. We gave it to a friend and we have the air matters sleep number set up now.
