Acouple of years ago my wife's good friend and her husband came through town to see us. He saw my 911 and my wife suggested I give him a ride. We drove around a little to get my engine warmed up then I "just happened" to be at one of my favorite on ramps. It is a tight S curve then opens up to I-35 and 70 MPH speed limit.

Pushing pretty hard through the corner and running through 1st 2nd and 3rd gear got his attention. He said he though we might roll over. I told him that was impossible, it would just slide.

My wife was chatting with her friend recently. The husband had bought a used Boxster over a year ago. Back in September he ordered a Boxster GT4 and it arrived last week. While they were waiting for that to come in they were at the dealer and bought a brand new Macan Turbo and a new Cayenne S that were on the lot. The had been driving Mercedes. Now they have three Porsches and just the two of them, no kids. I guess he liked the ride.

He is a ENT surgeon so his income per week is likely my annual salary or more.

So, our HR department uses a Employee ID number and an Employees Given Firstname, our Active Directory does not have a field for Employee number and Employees have been entered with their Common name. Is it common practice to add the Employee ID number and Given Name to Active Directory? I understand the fields are there but need to be turned on to be used.

Example: Robert Cole is employe 3482, he is on our system as Bob Cole and his email is bcole@company.com. There is nothing to tie to two records together. as there is also a John Cole.

We don't tie the employee number to AD and I don't recall talking to anyone who has in all the conferences and informal settings I have been to. Our AD names do match the HR software though. Makes it a pain when the women get married.

When I lived in California we were at a birthday party and as we were leaving one of the dad's saw we had brought the Cobra and commented on it. I asked if he wanted a ride and after his wife assured him they would be fine until we got back he got in. It took a few minutes to get through town to get to the on-ramp to I8. It was a typical 90* turn onto the ramp so I downshift into first at 35mph and roll on the throttle at the apex. We had to brake hard to avoid rear ending traffic as we merged. Later on I found out from a mutual friend that the short ride on the ramp scared the crap out of him.

This is the dash of my El Camino with the instrument cluster removed. The green-black & red wire hooks to the back of the speedometer with a screw that is almost impossible to get a socket on it bacause there is so little room. On the right is the backside of the instrument cluster and you can see the wires I had to add to have gauges. Even though my car is a "SS" it came with just a speedo and a fuel gauge and idiot lights. I bought a instrument cluster from a junkyard but the circuit board was NFG so I just wired the Tach, temp gauge, volt meter and oil pressure gauge to directly.

The small curve on the left side of the metal plate is where the speedo cable has to run through. When I get my speedo back to re-install I don't have to rip it down this far. I put the instruments in about 18 or 20 years ago. The speedometer conversion was done about 15 years ago. I have it all written down in my little yellow notebook. The notebook is on the last page. I will have to go to book two real soon.

Brother Tom got a temperpedic because he twitches and it wakes his wife up. They claim it helped.

Don't know where their sleep number went.

Really should replace my 20 yo full size mattress and bed.

Wait until tomorrow. Winter is here. At least the leaves will start to fall after a good freeze. Last year we had the freezing rain hit early and all the trees were full leaf on and we lost a tree in out back yard.

Good Hump day morning all.

I am going to meet our autocross chairman at a local old go cart track at lunch today. We are going to see about renting the track for our upcoming autocrosses. We lost access to our fantastic track due to politics. Our current DA has a personal hate of the local Sheriff. He did his best to get him voted out of office by starting an investigation of the Sheriff with time to have lots of press conferences and have his friend run for the office. The old sheriff was re-elected so that plan failed. Now he is doing a full investigation and will likely find some small issues to make a fuss over. In the end the taxpayers will pay a lot for the investigation and likely no major issues will be found. Then maybe we can get back to the track.

In the meantime we need to find a place to run at. We have used that old cart track long in the past. I remember running my 914 out there and I have not had that for over 20 years. I have had the 911 for 21 years and never run it out there. We are just going to have a look see.

Morning.

I'm certain that Hank has razors for teeth. I was trying to get him out from under our bed this morning and caught my right pointin' finger on one. Instant bleeding tht wouldn't stop. Of course, this was right at the time we needed to head for school.

Oh yeah, it's Hump Day.

Give that dog a bone.

Puppy teeth are indeed sharp. It is nice when they get old enough to have normal teeth.
