Well, for the near future I can sit in any clothing I want. I resigned yesterday (it was a long time coming). I do have an interview next week. I suppose I should dress for that.

Oh I dream of that day. We just went all PTO with no break between vacation and sick. Stupid idea.

Our crazy weather continues. The low last night or this morning was mid 60s. It is supposed to be high 70 today. That was too much for me, so I am in in shorts again! ![]() I will go find a project in the garage for sure today. I may take the day off to enjoy the weather.

It is 76 degrees, and crazy winds. I had to blow some leaves out of the garage after my time out there.
I finally got around to rebuilding my impact wrench. When attached to the air hose, it would just run, even without pulling the trigger. I bought a rebuild kit from Ingersol Rand, and then went looking for instructions on how to do it. I looked for 30 minutes and found nothing about how to take it apart and do the seals replacement. One guy posted a 15 second video on his impact wrench doing the same thing, but that was zero help. No one had a video of the same or even very similar unit. So I just tackled it like I would have in the olden days before the internet. I made some notes for next time, if there is a next time. One seal was just brittle and looked like a hamster chewed on it. Not a difficult repair, but I could do now in 15 or 20 minutes. Then I tackled replacing the throttle position sensor on the EL Camino. After many miles and years the old one was having issues. The new one seems to fix them all. I suspect it is just my wishful thinking, but it seems to have more throttle at WOT, and certainly idles smooth and at all positions on the throttle. I will learn more as I drive it more.

We had 50 MPH winds locally. It was 65 MPH winds that blew over TRAIN!. Yep, a train on the move was blown off the track by the wind. It was not moving real fast, but wind pushed over a train. And not just derailed it, it was on it's side.

We are getting close to the end of the year, and that is when all of our software licenses seem to renew. The credit card is smoking. Some are not really due until next month, but might as well get the expenses on this year's taxes.
It is almost funny how different some software packages manage their licenses. One company had us pay the full amount up front, and then sent myself and my business partner an email with a one time log in, and a code to log in with. Then we got the insane long user license key to keep or software current. One package is twice as expensive, and the software "calls home" and checks with the company to be sure we are legit, but it is laid back and easy. As long as we know our username and password the software works.

We lost the garden shed. Some parts were 1/2 mile away. We took the little jeep to get those out of the farmers field. 85 mph winds suck. No trains blown over though. I imagine they are protected running along the bottom of the bluffs.

Any winds above 50 get kinda dicey. We have had 60 MPH winds here and no damage. Our storage shed is not anchored down, but it is in the back yard corner, and sheltered between our house, and the neighbors sheds and a stockade fence. We had it put in right where I wanted, but it is not anchored down with anything but gravity. It is a wood frame building with metal panels and a baked on epoxy finish. It has been there 22 years with just a few dents from my mowing the yard, and a few hail storms over the years.

We drove up to Enid yesterday to have an early Christmas. Most of the relatives are planning to be with the other side of the families so one week earlier was a good compromise. We usually go up I-35 to Highway 412 into Enid. As one exits I-35 onto 412, there is a sea of windmills. I would guess at least 200 or so. The wind was blowing a little and most all of them were running. Only a couple were out of service. I have never seem them all running. On the way home it was the reverse, most were stopped, and only a handful were spinning.
They have one working yard with a large pile of the towers and blades to be put up as yet. Lots of wheat farmers can retire and just grow hay, run cattle, and live off the rental income of the windmills. I drove the 911 on that trip. It is the most economical vehicle of the three in cost per mile and gas usage. The speed limit on I-35 is 75, and most traffic is rolling along at 85, even the truckers. The trusty El Camino starts to struggle at 80 with the aerodynamics and gearing. The Macan and the 911 are completely happy and comfortable at those speeds.

Yea, the traffic on the way up was fairly light once we were out of the Metro area. On the way home in the afternoon traffic was heavier, but still not bad. There are regular signs to not impede the left lane, and left lane is for passing only. Once we got close to the metro area traffic picked up, and some idiot Aggie OSU bus driver stayed in the left lane like it was a bus lane. The good news in once we got to Rt 66 going east west it is three lanes, and no one in the right lane, so easy to get past that moron driving a bus stuck in the left lane.

A local farmer here told me he got $12k for a test tower to be put up for two years. No windmill, just the anemometer on the top of a tower and used maybe a quarter acre of his pasture.

Yea, there is no doubt that some of the property owners out there are making a lot of easy money for letting the companies install and maintain the towers. Every one has to have underground connections to a central substation. They all have some right of way to get to the towers. Most of them seem to have wheat fields growing, and or they are letting the field rest and just growing grass and weeds to cut for hay, and let the cattle eat the grass for a fee.
No worries about the weather affecting the crops, or having to harvest if it is just a field of grasses and weeds. Just cut it for hay a couple time per year. No doubt they are loving it if they don't live out there. It has to suck for the ones living out there with the noise of the blades churning. The images from Google Earth and Bing Earth are old, 2015 and before, and don't show any of the towers.

Most of the windmills here are in pasture land.

If that from the new job or the old one? Either way that is a nice bonus for the future.
We have several days of mid 60s, then mid 70s temps. I like it! I may have to go tinker in the garage again. The advantage of having two old cars is there is always something to do. I noticed on the drive Sunday the footwell blowers on the 911 are silent. The heater was still way more than enough, but I want everything to work like it should. I also need to double check that I have fuses on the footwell blowers. After all the years of owning it, I suspect I added the fuses already, but I want to be be 100% sure. It is astonishing that Porsche was no negligent in adding the real high tech engineering of a fuse in an electrical circuit. There are several things that are not fused from the factory and can cause a 911 to burn to the ground.
