We ended up getting a few inches of snow. It was above 0* later in the morning though so I went to clear snow.

I have no work to get up for just yet. I should have resigned back in July. Hiring times slow down around the holidays. I had enough PTO I am still getting paid for that a bit longer.

It is always time for a nap!

We get back to sunny and 50 or so today. Then more cold, dang it.

Ya would think it is winter or something.

Whoo weee, party time for me. I "get" to go see my CPA today so I can determine how much of my money I have to send to my uncle Sam. Gotta figure that last quarterly tax payment. The company pays no taxes as a LLC. The profit is split between my partner and I as our personal income, and we pay the taxes. As it is my only source of income, it is pretty simple to run the reports, and get it done.

Yea, and winter is back. 18 degrees and windy. Wind chill at single digit numbers. It will put a spring in yer step going from the car to a store or to the CPA office.

Kinda like the reverse of hot summer days going from cool car to cool buildings. The difference is I can put on gloves and a coat and not get that cold, but in the summer I have to wear enough clothes in public and I still get sweaty.

Or just leave em up for next year!

Yeouch!

I made my annual visit to my dermatologist. I think they must have had a sale on liquid nitrogen, and he needs to use up a lot. I zapped me on about 10 spots. Several on my temples and cheeks, one large one on top of my head in an area getting thin on hair near the back of my head, and several on my back. I will be looking like a leper for a while. It is way better than getting skin cancer however.

OUCH.

Morning all. Its Monday. Another week. I got all the outside xmas stuff down on Saturday. Some of it has to dry off a week or two in the garage before I box it up.

No way, that is the pond in our back yard!

Yea, when we did the Portland Parade, we took one of the waterfall drives. Amazing place to see for folks from Oklahoma. I just re-watched the TV series Grimm, on Amazon. It is all filmed in Portland area and they worked hard at showing some great views.

We drove down to Crater lake and spent the day there. Certainly a pretty place.

Yes Oregon has a lot of cool places to see. I don't know if its still an option but when I was in high school I hiked down to the water in Crater Lake and went on a boat ride out to the small dome then hike up it before returning to the craters edge and hiking back out.

Back when I was a kid on one of our trips across country we stopped at Meteor crater in Arizona. My brother and I wanted to hike down and see the little shed at the bottom. No big deal for a 13 year old kid isn great shape. So we hiked down, looked around, hiked out and did not think much about it. Now it is closed to tourists without a special permit. Evidently they had to rescue too many idiots that hare way out of shape and can't get out without help.

In Hawaii on the big island we went on a short hike around the volcano. We can only guess the sign was knocked down, and we ended up taking the long route. 20 miles around the crater. We got back to our cabin, and my parents went in and collapsed on the bed. My brother and I walked down to the lodge, and rented bikes and rode the bicycles down to another area. We were really hungry that night, but that was totally normal.

Mom and dad could hardly walk the next day.

When my boss from my job in CA was in scouts they hiked down to the bottom at the grand canyon. On the way up some kids got the idea it would be funny to roll a large boulder down the trail. My boss has to run to the top to call for a rescue and the kid got to ride in a helicopter to the hospital.

Should be above freezing here later in the week. Good thing as I still need to get the replacement garden shed put up. Last time it was above freezing it was 30mph winds and rain. Not a good day to put it up.

At least the play set didn't blow over this last wind. If it does now we are in big trouble. It is anchored to steel fence posts that are all but 6" buried.

I love the midwest, but sometimes the wind is a bear.
