As a matter of fact I did. Blood work came back positive. A1C is 5.3, back to normal. I told the doc to define normal..............

Going to go look at an Avion travel trailer tonight. Windy and rainy so we might have an issue getting it out of the grass where it is parked with our 2WD pickup. Just what we need, a third trailer.

Trailers are great, when a buddy owns and stores it. So many trailers just sit unused most of the time and take up a lot of room. The last time I needed a trailer, I went to U-haul and rented one for not much money, and it was a very heavy duty trailer, more than I needed, but it was cheap for the day.

We haul the bikes or canoe/kayaks in ours often. Don't use the utility trailer much since we got the cargo trailer, other that hauling stuff around the yard. Technically we could camp in the cargo trailer, but this has a bathroom which my wife seems to like for some reason.

Saturday we had an autocross. The weather was threatening but held off. I got home 15 minutes before the rain hit. A total of 1.5 inches, but so spinning winds or lumps of ice.

Oklahoma had 27 tornadoes in Oklahoma that afternoon and evening. Downtown Sulphur, OK was devastated, one dead there and at least 4 deaths state wide. There were over 125 tornadoes across the central part of the country.

We had our tornado bags ready with medicines, checkbooks, dog food and toothbrushs ready. The storm shelter is always stocked to water, and a 5 gallon bucket for bodily functions.

Yea, the bad pookie mostly went east of us. Lots and lots of thunder. One of the VERY "blond" ladies that worked with my wife had some funny sayings. My favorite was "we had a lot of thunder last night, but no lightning" so my wife and I use that as an inside joke.

Our tornado shelter is in the garage, in the bay where I park the 911. I can pull the 911 forward a bit further than normal, and it is easy access into the shelter. I opened it up, and put the handle in place to be ready. I charged up several flashlights. In the 20 years or so we have had it, we have only gone there once, except the annual spring cleaning to get rid of dead bugs, and leaves that somehow get blown it. It is a steel box, set in several inches of concrete on all sides, and a 1/4 inch thick steel roof and a 1/4 inch thick sliding door. It also has a come along in there mounted to open the door if debris in on top of it. An F5 can strip the house off and leave nothing but the slab. And it can drop a Semi or tractor on top. It is registered wit the city and the fire department know to come look.

I believe every county in the continental US has had at least one tornado. Certainly every state has had a few. Tornado alley has more than most other areas do to the Rockies on the west, and the Gulf stream to the south. F5s are pretty rare fortunately. There was one large tornado that just went across a pasture so there was nothing much to damage, so it was rated a F0. If it hit a populated area is would have been a F3. The rating is rated by the damage done. It is rated after the damage is done.

My grandparents and my mom lived in Oklahoma many years. They never once saw a tornado. Her parents lived in the same house from 1928 to 1985. Never a tornado in their neighborhood.

They really are rare, and only hit a very small area, even the worst of them. The May 3rd F5 that hit Moore, OK had 300 MPH winds and killed many and utterly destroyed the area where it touched down. Yet just a 1/2 mile away was full civilization with help pouring in. Unlike hurricanes, major earthquakes, tsunamis, wildfires or floods where entire tows or communities are without food and water or shelter to stay in.

Reuben has been circling the storage building. Pretty much a mouse alert. So I will go set traps. Mice are not welcome here. Death to them all.

I caught one mouse in my traps yesterday. I will go check them again soon.

We had more storms in the state yesterday. One guy they interviewed looked to be in his 20s, and the welding business they were in was torn up with the winds. As they interviewed him he even admitted he had no idea there were storms coming. What an idiot.

I know he has a cell phone. There are numerous apps that will warn you of the weather. And show you radar. Just a severe thunderstorm watch or warning is enough to pay attention to the weather!

We have a battery operated hand held TV that will receive the local stations even if the power is out and cell service is out.

Morning all. Some people are just stupid I guess. If I lived there I'd want to be alerted to bad weather for sure.
