Now the Camary...

Brake fluid leakage is the latest of Toyota's woes.

Toyota Recall Update #25: 2010 Camry Recalled for Possible Brake Fluid Leak

This is becoming sad.

I'm wondering if this is turning into a witch hunt.

They are getting tons of attention by the NHTSB... if every other automaker got that attention they would probably start finding all sorts of little problems too.

My thought as well. They've been up for years, now everyone is taking turns kicking them while they're down. Maybe their resale values will go to crap so I can get my wife that Sequoia she's been wanting.

I actually am beginning to think that this is partially Toyota trying to be smart and clear anything that even RESEMBLES a skeleton in their closet out at once and partially part of a calculated effort to better position U.S. automakers by the gov't. A lot of this stuff is being driven by NHSTA, who works for the same government that is under intense pressure to show results for their bailout (and current ownership of) domestic companies like GM and Chrysler. Draw your own conclusions, but I smell a rat...

It is also that the media, and we, are ignoring other automakers' recalls. Honda just recalled cars for defective airbags - no one bothered to start a thread about that.

They mentioned a power steering pump recall on the radio today for Toyota Camry

I just got a recall notice for my Silverado.

Apparently some of the sound deadening material under the passenger seat can absorb salt water in the winter (from dripping passenger feet) and in rare cases, short out the passenger seat controls.

I'm not taking my truck in. I have Weathertech floor mats.

430,000 plus cars are part of that recall. A significant number, but not as big as the cars effected by Toyota's recalls of late...

Definitely.... Anything that "might" have been a problem is now getting poked until its HUGE right now and getting recalled.... Good news is lots of Toyota owners are going to have cars that get a SERIOUS once over by the dealers....

+1. And Toyota is probably where a consumer can get some killer deals.

Would I buy one (or a Lexus)? If the deal was good, you bet.

That recall with the Silverado- that's ridiculous. 20 years ago, if a car had that problem, you just dealt with it as the owner. Not everything comes perfect. It definitely wouldn't have been recalled for that.

I'd much rather have an Infinity.

It won't try to kill me.

Does make one wonder how much of this is Government officials promoting Government Motors by going after Toyota.

My thought exactly, LaHood was on national news last night saying how they were going after Toyota and it would all be made right and safe before people had these cars back on the road. This is just a government scam to get people back to US automakers. Toyota was the biggest and easiest target to go after and the recalls are just the foot in the door the government needed.

I would believe this theory more if there weren't something wrong with the recalled cars. But there is something wrong with them, right? So how can it be a scam?

There a BUNCHES of other manufactures of cars and trucks.

This will help Hyundai, Nissan &, Mazda more than GM & Ford.
