Yeah it's wrong as I suggested, but the letter went far beyond "move your car jerk" to a crazy geopolitical philisophical analysis.

Looks like I am late to the party. I am with the crowd that advises to park at the very edge of the lot in a single spot. You have to pick your battles. The risk of getting the car keyed is rather high and aside from your pride, there isn't anything to lose by just parking it in a single spot from now on. It will scratch your pride a little - but not the car.

Then you can fantasize how you lay waiting with a sniper rifle on top of the building watching over your car that you now parked taking up four spaces.

You should have heard the comments when I was driving the 944 to HS... I swear the entire town thinks my family is loaded... We really aren't... We are just smart about purchases and happen to have nice things.... My folks probably make less/year than most of them and have less debt...

my friend bought a brand new "american" Ford, parks it to go into tag agent, i'm sitting in passenger side. Car pulls up .... big 300lb woman of color pulls up... WACK puts big car dent in side, I get out WTF! She flips me off, goes in.... buddy comes out, tell & show him, I'm pretty sure she didn't like the results .... some people don't give a damn, if people cared you wouldn't need to park like that, I'd park it at end of parking lot until I found out who left you the note.... they'll probably make themselves known to someone by BRAGGING .... He's a chicken ***** or he'd left his name or talked to you in person

At the same time? Did the WACK come from the car or the 300 lb woman of color? Jus' kiddin' bro.

I get out WTF! She flips me off,

C’mon enzo. I bet you said “WTF woman of color!” (that’ll usually piss them off right from the git go). And you actually got out of the car?! Whoa, you’re one brave man!

goes in.... buddy comes out, tell & show him, I'm pretty sure she didn't like the results

Did he put a big car dent in her car? Cool! Too bad your friend isn’t brave like you; it would have been a hoot to wait and confront that woman of color two on one and flip her off in unison, HA HA HA!

.... some people don't give a damn,

Hey! 300 lb woman of color – are you really all that shocked?

if people cared you wouldn't need to park like that,

Even if they did, there’ll always be those women of color in a parking lot somewhere (the 300 pounders are the scariest – and there are a LOT of them).

I'd park it at end of parking lot until I found out who left you the note.... they'll probably make themselves known to someone by BRAGGING .... He's a chicken *****
Like your friend?

or he'd left his name or talked to you in person

Yeah. That 300 lb woman of color is probably laughing her fat ass off bragging to her friends of color ‘bout how she pulled up next to a skinny little white dude who was glaring at her so she WACKED the shiny white-trash car a good one. If I were you I’d watch my back though – she’s probably lookin’ for you.

Damn shame to be sure. If it’d been a 300 lb white woman, chances are there’d have been no incident.

Ha ha... my wife tells me my step daughter thinks I'm rich!

I have to admit step daughter stayed at my brothers house (contractor) who is well off and his wife drives a BMW station wagon... and my parents drive a Cadillac... and my Hyundai is a GT oooooh awwwww (it does have leather, aluminum wheels and disk brakes all the way around)

Reality is step daughters dad is a mechanic at a Honda dealership... no doubt he make more money than I do! (and he lives with his parents)

Take up three spaces. And put a smiley face sunshade in the windshield. A big giant yellow obnoxious one.

Can you believe it? 88 posts before this one about how to park. If anyone in the outside world is reading this crap, they will be true believers of the Porsches and porcupines theory.

What if I told you I drive in two lanes?

Incidentally if people weren't such morons and seemed to delight in putting door dings onto other peoples' cars then people who actually value their cars wouldn't have to resort to such tactics. The public-at-large is a bunch of idiots. They're inconsiderate/thoughtless at best and deliberately petty/jealous at worst.

As long as you're way out in the parking lot fringes not impinging on anyone else's ability to park I don't see the problem at all. Of course if you're way out in the fringes it may not be necessary to use two spots either. If it's a crowded lot where every spot is "in play" it's a different rule set. Either don't drive the good car there or be prepared to get door dings from some idiot.

Your statement seems reasonable but bitter experience has taught me that other drivers have no respect for your property.

There you go, well said.

When we take the Boxster to a mall, we park at the end and at a slight angle. We don't park across lines, but it's obvious what we are doing. To think that someone would key the car just because we don't line up in the world of lemmings makes my blood boil.

When I see a Ferrari, or any really nice car, I expect the driver to park it differently and think nothing of it. Not long ago I went to the Orange County Performing Arts Center for an event. The valets were parking some of the high end cars on the sidewalk. Fine with me.

DARISC..... LOL< cool, Sniper wasn't here to tell me I should have used "chocolate"...actually, my friend is the skinny white dude and we did something a lot more juvenile , we "STUFFED" the tailpipe it was GREAT fun...I'm a car guy no dents. I was pissed when I read how everyone is telling this guy to just let his car get wacked or don't drive it. Your timeline is wrong the "glare" happened after she hit the car and since she had already been confronted, no need to go through that again( she didn't care at all), I'm sure shes leaving dents in parking lots everywhere, maybe even on YOUR car http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sYqBxkMJrmo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0fwJEXudEE&feature=related so, if he put a "DING" protector on his car and park in ! stall what would happen? I bet they'd key it

You have a real problem with this don't you?

If you'd care to read the full thread you'd see I moved the car, and moved on, as suggested by the majority of gentlemen who offered a reasonable response.

What would I do? learn to park like a normal person.
It's OK to mingle with the little people, we're not all that bad

I'll do just that, like you say "you're not all bad".
Thanks for the input.

Hey, you're the OP with the problem, not BeyGon. There is something wrong with you if you feel the need to take two parking spaces. Either you're ignorant of what the lines are there for (which you're not) or you chose to ignore them - which is wrong by simple definition, especially given the general public acceptance of the reasonableness of defined parking stalls - and you did so at your own risk - in your "new Mercedes C300" (whoa, you drive a Mursaydies Benz?! Jus' like in that song?! ).

If you'd care to read the full thread you'd see I moved the car, and moved on, as suggested by the majority of gentlemen who offered a reasonable response.

Cool! Thanks to the majority of gentlemen here you've seen the light and there is no longer something wrong with you (I love PPOT - it's sooo...curative ).

Your last name wouldn't be Pedasso would it Stu? I knew a Stu Pedasso once who had problems grasping certain simple concepts.

Have a nice day...an' y'all be careful where y'all park that shiny new Mursaydies Benz!
