Be really careful at the muzzle end because of muzzle wear, That stuff will creep in at any opportunity.

discontinued in 2009. the last line i had on one local got sold out from under me. i highly doubt condition is a question as these are shot very very seldom due to obvious reasons. kids moving to wyoming and this will be his anti bear vaporizer death ray. me i would buy the 5" and have magna ported. him he wants the 2" barrel and wear it across chest so as to fly fish. if ya hear of one send pics and price.

"The FFL's here nick me for a cool $50 to register..$25 to city state and $25 to the Dealer. No way around it."
This aroused my curiosity into the state laws & regulations digest. Given it's Nevada, I wouldn't have expected that LV/Clark Co. would have such restrictions as those. Oh, and how do you spend your 72 hour waiting period? Jim

I assume you know he's also sending in a ATF form 3310.4, Report of Multiple Sale or Other Disposition of Pistols or Revolvers (two or more handguns in five business days). A copy for the Feds, one for the state, and one for the dealer. Not necessarily a reason for paronia, I just look at it as more paperwork for the dealer. Jim

Great timing, I just bought a S&W 642 .38 Special +P 1-7/8" Airweight, great for carry. It may not be the easiest to shoot, but a light weight snubby is the most engaging handgun I've ever shot. Kind of like driving a light weight 911.

Nope, I've shot many roman candles, they don't have anything on a Airweight snubby.

Reading between the lines a bit, I assume you already have a CCW and carry an autoloader; i.e. this new revolver won't be you first (or only) concealed carry gun. Are those valid assumptions?
If so, I think you may be disappointed, for a number of reasons. First and foremost, any revolver is simply going to be bulkier and more difficult to conceal than an equivalent autoloader. The diameter of the cylinder pretty much dictates that. Second, your desire to shoot .357's runs counter to your desire for a 2" barrel length and a concealable revolver. Your desired chambering and platform simply do not work well together. The best advice you've gotten so far is to look for a quality (ruling out the South American guns) five shot .38 Special in stainless steel. Smith or Ruger make guns that qualify. The other option, of course, is to forget about the concealed carry requirement and just get a gun that is fun to shoot. That opens the field considerably. Oh, and by the way, these are revolvers, not rotators. The Earth rotates about the Sun and revolves about its axis. ![]()

Get a S&W 442 which is an alloy frame 5-shot steel cylinder .38 SPL 2" concealed hammer. The frame won't rust. The cylinder is blued, but it'll be covered by the holster. The .38 SPL is fine, you can load +P for real. The 2" barrel is fine for short range. You can get a Crimson Trace grip w/ laser. If you like it but want the option of .357 Mag, then upgrade to a S&W alloy frame, titanium cylinder, magnum model, there are a couple of options. The reason I suggest starting with the 442 is it is fairly inexpensive and much lighter than the steel framed models like the 642.

You're right, I'm sorry. The 642 has a stainless cyl and clear finish. The 442 has a blued cyl and dark finish. They are both Airweights. I got confused.

Yeah, I'm thinking 5 shot J-frame 38spl w/1 7/8" that shoots +P is a good CHL gun.
