Not many things make you feel better than a root canal

Unless of course you add in a tooth extraction and your basic cleaning. 3 1/2 hours in the chair. Boy I sure am hungry.

Thank goodness for insurance:

Cleaning = $9.00
Root canal = $64.00
Tooth extraction = $14.00

Next week: 2 crowns

Future: Bridge

I'm sure I'll get Christmas card from my dentist after this.

I'm scheduled for 3 at the end of the month, then some through the gum work on 2 of the same when the root canals heal.

Hopefully I'll find out the total and what insurance pays before I get there...

I just got my root canal done at 3:30 this afternoon. Yeah, hungry is right. I cut up some cup-o-noodles and just drunk it. I sure will have a nice dinner. I hope. Not too bad, only 2 hours in that chair. No pain yet.

I had part of a filling fall out Saturday, got checked out Monday. It's quite a list, 2 crowns for sure, no root canals though. He's running what my insurance might cover before we begin.

I'm not looking forward to any of it.

Have a wisdom tooth hammered & chiseled out of your mouth by a sadistic F'ing dentist with only novocain.
I'll see your root canal & raise you an impacted tooth.

Cleaning and turning two old fillings into a crown tomorrow. I am truly blessed. After that I gotta replace a suddenly leaking water heater. I can't wait.

What in the world kind of insurance coverage do you have - those co-pay amounts are ones I'd seriously kill for!

I have some similar work that I've been putting off because the cost of the co-pays is too high to stomach. Most plans I've ever seen it's something like 40% maximum for anything other than a routine cleaning and exam. I just have a problem writing a check for thousands of dollars (the out-of-pocket cost for what I need done) for things that aren't literally incapacitating me. I know I probably shouldn't, but if I can live with it, I do... I hate the thought of paying that much and money isn't exactly falling off of trees these days either.

IV sedation........the only way to have this done. Expensive, yes, but it all happens in a flash and you have no memory of what happened.

Actually it's my wife's plan. She works for a state university. The pay isn't much but the insurance bennys make up for it and she is not a union member.

I just went through this with broken old filling, a split tooth - a root canal - and then a tooth extraction.

My dentist was impressed by my abnormally long root - I thought he was going to pull out part of my brain with the tooth. Seriously!

This along with a gallbladder attack (and 21 gallstones) were two of the most painful things I have endured in my life - and all within the past 18 months.

Pain - such a rush!

My root canal last May was $800 and I have BCBS insurance... That was MY portion for the endodontics.
