Do appreciate the Tori Amos Winter track.
For me, like so many others, it's a thing of when and where you were in life when you listened to the stuff. I had the Tori Amos Crucify EP in my walkman (!) when I took the train (!!) from GR Michigan to Denver for my freshman orientation at CO Mines in the summer of 1992. Big transition in life - moving away from home, leaving the HS girlfriend behind, going from the little pond to the big pond. I'm so thankful I did - can't imagine what my life would be if I hadn't. To this day those acoustic versions of the songs on that EP get me. (plus, I finally figured out the words to that huge Nirvana song!) Travel for me is a big thing. Do biannual long road trips alone just to chill out and get a grasp on things. (Jung/Meyers Briggs psych: off-the-scale "I" in the "INTJ" that I am) Spent hours on a really awesome trip with the reunited Portishead album Live at Roseland NYC. This one really does it. Portishead - Roads - YouTube I think the video detracts from it - have never seen it before. Better with closed eyes and killer headphones. The rest of Portishead rocks and Beth Gibbon's solo work is out of this world good traveling music.

Remember When, Alan Jackson. Not a big country fan either.

Okay, this one has me crying because it is so funny in a REALLY WRONG WAY.
But if you actually think about the lyrics, it's a really sad song...

This song has a lot of feeling, and is also being sung by my son-in-law.
I am very proud of him. Have a look

Randy, that's a good one. I'd almost forgotten about that.

I know the the song below is about a man and a woman's love, but when my dad was in the hospital after a heart attack/cardiac arrest, I couldn't sleep, and kept playing this song over and over again on my iPod:

This song is pretty much the one that got me interested in acoustic guitar (along with Neil Young) when it came out. Still love the line "She's living in L.A. with my best old ex-friend Ray". Too bad he and Maury Muehleisen never had the chance to experience how big they became...

Concerto for Lute in D (second movement) - Antonio Vivaldi... heard at the end of this trailer. Usually chokes me up pretty good... because it is playing during the final scene of this wonderful movie.
And this will sometimes do it...

Superb song from an equally great group.
Fix you, Yellow and The hardest part. Landmark songs in my book.
