If you have some time......here's a nice film with some smooth soul surfing. Central America - the Pacific really has a lot of power!

Thanks, Geary! The sequence at the 4:30 mark is really cool. Some really nice water footage also. Thought the whole film was really well done including the music. Love the little scenic cameos throughout also!

Note his ability to turn from the center of that 1st board, rather than planting one foot on the tail ..

Umm, I had a MR twin back in the '70s. I wonder what ever happened to that board. It wanted to anywhere other than a straight line and got really powered up in mushy waves.

Funny thing is as a kid I thought I'd quit surfing by the time I got to be an old man at the age of 21 LOL As it turns out it's probably the most sensible thing I ever did, choosing a life by the sea and out in the surf. At 61 I'm still fit and strong. |

Phew, John.
Even when I was younger I couldn't have managed those takeoffs. I wasn't even 1/10th quick enough to be on my feet and turned into the wave. Last edited by Bill Douglas; 06-14-2020 at 04:02 PM.. |

June 17 at age 75 passed away in his sleep.
My Australian friend, Kiwi White. Longtime surfer and made his living flying a Cessna as a tuna spotter out of Port Lincoln, S. Australia. He was still surfing at age 75 - and left behind a legacy of travel and making new friends wherever he went. An ambassador of his country, his sport, and his family. On his last visit here during a July 4th, we took our longboards out at the end of my street and watched the fireworks while having a surf. You will be missed, my friend. Ride that big wave in the sky and I will see you when I see you..... ![]()

Aloha Baz,, beautiful pic and write up of your friend Kiwi.
Sorry for your loss, condolences to friends and family. If you insert his name and details in this song it would be fitting. https://allanthomas.bandcamp.com/track/the-longest-ride Your friend, Rich Last edited by tevake; 06-19-2020 at 09:31 AM.. |
