Yo Shaun,

Nice shirts - they remind me of one I have....at some point later I will post this panel sweatshirt I received back in the 80's from South Africa that is pretty cool. I think you will dig it. It's an retro style but very cool, IMHO....

Sorry about the hip but good for you - you got a great attitude.

You know, it's funny, I hate snow until I see it in the mountains, in nature. It is so beautiful. I love the way it covers everything, making everything soft and rounded. And how it makes everything so quiet.

Beautiful pics, Geary. I chatted with a lot of the dudes on the chairlifts. At least 75% were surfers too. Talked skateboarding too. We are all crossovers. Spent the morning snowboarding, spending the night waxing my surfboard. Want to get out to San Diego next month. At least that's the goal.

Variables with Kimi Werner (Patagonia Surfing)

I thought that the folks interested in boarding (liquid & frozen) would have an appreciation (and a bit of awe) for Kimi's world:

"In Variables, Patagonia spearfishing ambassador Kimi Werner strives to find her place in the ecosystem. She treads the line between predator and prey - eventually discovering balance in an unlikely place."

That was really cool. Thanks for sharing. I love videos of water. Calms me.

Fellas, I finally tried to put my new fin on my board and my fin box is too tight. Can't get the back end of my fin in. What should I do? I don't want to force it. And I don't think there are any surf shops to help me. Maybe I will email somebody.

Hey Tweeze. Shoot us a couple of pics so we can see what's up. it May just be that a bit of sanding on the fin will do the trick. Got to be sure that the fin and box are the same system and meant to go together.
Do I hear San Diego calling you?

Love that pic with your mom.

Cheers Richard

I actually thought of that. Let me try sanding it first and then I will let you know if it will fit. Yes! I want to get to San Diego next month if I can. Still riding the snow for now.

And thanks about the pic. She's a good mom.

Its a good idea to tape the fin right at the point where it sticks out of the box so the sanding is just in the area meant to be inside the box. Sand just till it will go in with some effort. Don't want it to be loose in the box. If there is split pin in the fin you may be able to tap it to one side so you can sand easily. Then recenter the pin..

The older fin type of fins could be slid fore and aft for tuning. This often needs the fin to be rotated out of the box except for the corner with the pin to be able to move it. Then when rotated back into the box it becomes very tight. Hope this helps rether than confuses the issue.

Cheers Richard

Is it an FCS fin system ?

Make sure the screw/s is/are turned out.

Don't sand them unless it is an old school slide system.

Lahinch - that is one awesome, nasty slab.

I picked up a new wet suit this winter - and I got to say - I was warmer in that suit in the water than I was on land.
Didn't want to take it off - now I know how a seal feels...like having a second skin - and fur.
- Rip Curl Flash Bomb (with the wooly, fast dry lining)
No - this is not an advert - just what a difference from even a couple years ago.
Still hate wearing the boots and gloves though.

Water is up to 50 here now WOOhoo -

When I prove to make an effort to go surfing more, I will invest in a wetsuit. When I surfed in NorCal, I had to wear booties and gloves. Definitely different. I have to admit I like the bikini temp and weather of Hawaii to surf. Even in SoCal, I had to wear something to keep me warm. I am a wuss. Arizona girl surfing. I am like that chicken in the movie "surf's up". Really cute movie. He is so out of his league and element but is having fun and is like whatever. So me...

Gee Tweez - that was way back on page 12 - that's not new any more - Ha

That is a great looking log.
I still ride a gun and a short board but around here in "bikini weather" (NOT me !) the waves are mostly longboard waves.
I love how everything seems slower on a longboard, more relaxed and flowing and cerebral.
You are going to enjoy that one.

Post some shots of the system, I'm sure Richard or Baz will be able to see what's up with it.
