Oh Shaun if I wasn't so comfortable with my body you sure know how to make a girl feel good. Green font by the way.

NICE pics, Tweeze!
Good to see you stylin'! ;) |
Nice spring conditions for snowboarding Tweeze. My buddies and I used to ski in shorts and shirtless in the spring at Mammoth. We would hit chair 5 for fast cruising and then one wise guy would challenge us to hot dog the ridges... bad idea. It gets real crusty up there in spring and I went down once and shredded my back to hamburger. You could probably see the skid marks for a month after. I prefer to wear clothes now. :D
When you get to SD, there are a lot of nice longboard spots around depending on the swell and direction. La Jolla Shores, Calumet, Torrey Pines, Trails to name a few. San Diego County - Surfing in San Diego County, United States of America - WannaSurf, surf spots atlas, surfing photos, maps, GPS location It's been a while since I went surfing as my kids ran off with all my boards. I do miss those days when the only thing to worry about was that next big set coming in. |

And thanks for the info about SD! |

Oh, and I got a little bit of snow rash. They convinced me to try a couple of little hills/jumps. Yeah, ate it. But I looked cool doing it. :) |

Tweezers, your surfing is getting better all the time :) |
Richard, what do you think of that crazy wave at Velzland. Scarry. Many years ago I was staying at a camping ground in Haliewa but the swell was only about one meter. I walked up to Velzyland and it was breaking head height and half again. Phew it must have been shallow :( I went to Waimea Bay and had a body surf as it was only a tiny crumbly beach break that day, but at least I can say I've body surfed the mighty Waimea Bay.

Hey Bill, I'm sure Geary knows much more about the Oahu N. Shore spots than I. But it is really surprising how on certain swells, one or another spot really catches the swell and is half again or twice the size as other spots. It can really surprise you.
Love the shot in Hana, that was my kind of spot, out of the way with a handfull of locals that surfed there and were happy to share with a new face. Lanai is another spot I had some exceptional sessions at, big fun with Da Bros. there. Cheers Richard |
Funny you mention Lanai, Richard .. On southwest swells, my buddy and I would scoot over from Maui on my waverunner, with boards, extra fuel, and a beer cooler strapped tightly onto our rescue sled. We'd spend all day lounging on the southeast side beach, with not a single other person in the water or on the beach. Great memories ..

Surf's up in Teahupoo! That is just the biggest, fattest, hollow wave I have ever seen.
Huge swell at Teahupoo sends surf media into overdrive | GrindTV.com |
Nice post on that video Cajundady, I overheard a conversation in the hardware store the other day With Terry Chun (one of the best surfers you've never heard of) saying he had just got back from Tahiti and that this swell was great but many guys got raked and really busted up. Can't imagine trying to surf that wave in a rabid crowd. Really, can't imagine trying to surf that wave anyway.
Geary, I used to stop in at Lanai on my annual migration between the Big Island and Kauai, would stop in and anchor at white Manele and just paddle into the lineup. Then later on would have to hot foot it from the harbor over to the beach. Friendly folks there at that time, lots of hanakapila (jam sessions, playing music)at the harbor after work in the pineapple fields. Get the lines out, start afire to cook the fish, and bust out the Uks and guitars. Hoota, good times. Cheers Richard |
