For those who don't know of Mark Richards; he was the guy who first used a twin fin, and, drum role please... thank you... drove a silver 911SC.

A pic in Surfing World or Tracks of MR sitting in his silver 911 with a board on the roof is my first conscious memory of a 911.

I remember a photo in Tracks that must have been 1978 or '79 of him in the car too.

Fantastic- I had this happen, but the other way where they launched out of the wave and flew right over the top, a pair, while paddling back out. Its just so cool when the dolphins come surfing, you'll never get that in a video game kids.

I agree Stuartj. Nothing like it. I've had it happen too, at Lower Trestles. They know exactly what they're doing. After they jumped out of the wave in front of me, they hung around me in the line-up for a few minutes making eye contact. I've have a deep affection for them ever since.

I had a really cool MR swallow tail twinnie back in those days.

I never had an MR but I did have a bunch of different twin fins back in the day including an authentic DN fish that I wish I had kept.....got a few pics of me surfing on it around here somewhere.....in the meantime check this out.....
