I really like my 22s... but my favorite is my metric pattern FN-FAL. Mine's a "mutt" DCI receiver w/ imbel parts kit and dsa compliance parts, but it is MINE. Handgun wise, still like the rimfires but the fav is my 1911.

Not for shooting? These are the best shootin' sidearms ever made. Everyone owes it to themselves to have a shootin' Peacemaker. This one has been a regular carry gun. plinker, trail gun, and sometimes even primary hunting gun for over 25 years. Well in excess of 10,000 rounds through it. It's killed everything from rock chucks to coyotes to pronghorn to mule deer. .45 Colt, 280-ish grain cast bullet at over 900 fps with a good dose of #2400 or FFFg. My all-time favorite gun:

As far as my "someday" gun, it's kind of hard to come up with one. I have pretty much an example or several of all of my favorites. There remains just one unfilled niche, which may very well be taken car of soon.

I don't have a big bore "punkin' thrower". A big bore, round ball only muzzle loader. Oh, I have plenty of .45, .50, .54, and .58's. but those are decidedly "medium bore". I'm talking 12 to 10 bore or better. Fortunately, the Pacific Rifle Company, right down south of me in Oregon. makes just such an arm. It's an underhammer in the Hopkins & Allen pattern, with only three moving parts - trigger, hammer, and hammer spring, which doubles as the trigger guard:

My MAK-90.

When I was a kid growing up in Michigan, my parents house was surrounded by farm fields. My mom didn't care if I shot the BB gun or the .22 around the house at squirrels or birds, but she got pissed when I brought out the .410. My dad bought me a .22 WMR Marlin rifle when I was 15, and that was my favorite rifle for a while. While me and my 15 year old friends tramped through the woods of Bedford Township, Michigan, and shared a BEER that we stole from one of our parents refrigerators....I remember thinking that I wanted an AK-47. The Russian standard weapon seemed uglier and more purposeful than our countries M-16. Since my family came from eastern Europe, I also felt a [stupid] attraction to this weapon.

Fast forward to 1995; Billy Bob Clinton wants to ban guns. Hello! I buy two assault rifles, both of which I still own: An SKS, and a MAK-90. The MAK is my favorite gun! It is so simple I cannot believe it. I field strip and clean it every couple of months, and the simplicity yet effectiveness of this device astounds me!

THAT thing packs a whallop! There was an abandoned farm house near me, the only thing left was a cellar in the middle of a corn field, and hundreds of terra cotta pots. We used to take all our guns back there and shoot them for practice, the whole neighborhood, because this place was literally 1/2 mile from the nearest road or house. The .410 made only marks on the clay pipes, or barely knocked them over. The average .22 long did nothing. My .22 WMR made a crack on the pipes.

But that Mak 90? This gun blew them to smithereens, and you had to duck from the flying clay 75 feet in BACK of the whole thing!

I like the ruggedness, I like the power, and I like the way it looks.

N!

My favorite? My Browning A5 20ga. My grandpa bought and some butcher had put on a poly choke, so he got a belgium made barrel, had a vent rib added, and intended to take it pheasant hunting, but passed before he got the chance. First chance I get, I'm taking it....

Dream gun? Not really sure.

1) My Rock River M4. I think if I could only take one gun with me, this would be it. I can shoot close things with it. I can shoot distant things with it. It is very reliable. I love my handguns, especially my G17, it's the only gun I own that feels like an extension of my right hand, but I can't say with confidence I can hit things past 50 yards with it.

2) I think a Barret 95 would put a great big smile on my face.

Got to be the L1A1 SLR.

Standard issue British Army rifle from the 70s and 80s. Will also be familiar to any Aussies and Canadians. Beautifully made, robust and accurate.

Will never forget my first day at the range as a 17 yr old recruit....

Which is funny 'cause the Brit/Aussie/Canuck rifles are all sear cut and have FA ejector blocks... just gotta put a selector in that doesn't get blocked on the way to the fun position...

I agree with Art, only mine is a 1908 in .380. Compact, thin and easy to carry. I apologize for the dark picture, only one that I had on hand.

The "wish" gun would be a Springfield Scout rifle in .308 with the 16 or 20 inch bbl.

Just for the record, those are not "Assault Rifles". Not unless they have full auto capability. The SKS was never produced as a full auto weapon and the AK is a clone of the original. Let's not spread false info about our sport, ok?

I have quite a few rifles/handguns/shotguns ranging from bb guns to a Rock River AR15. If I had to name my favorite, it would be my lowly Marlin .22 rifle (daytime varmints) followed closely by my old simple Mossberg 12 ga pump (night time varmints). Both have served me well over the years living in rural areas with lots of woodchucks/possum/coons/skunks/feral cats.

I like all my guns, but the two I mentioned above are the only ones that earn their keep year after year after year.

1. The most favorite one that you currently own:

S&W 686 Combat Magnum. 4" Double action.

2. If you could have any specific one, which would it be.

Holland & Holland 12 bore side by side sidelock.

I really like M-14 and M1A's the most, but also like the M1 Garand and put up with the AR platform.

The pink M!A is my daughters, she just moved up to Expert this past June. We put it in a glass bedded stock for Service Rifle matches. I rebed the rifle twice a year. She shoots it this way for hungting season.
