Hey I am with you on most accounts.

One thing I can’t agree with you on is the goalie. They won’t win it all unless he gets a lot better. The last goal on Sunday was a disgrace. Yes it’s easy for me to sit and look at the replay and say what he did wrong but I don’t get paid his money either. He played it correctly and was aggressive on his angle and coming out to meet the shooter. He forced the shooter who had decided to try and blow the puck past him to pull his shot and hold onto the puck longer then he would have liked. That’s great but then the only play the shooter had was the 5 hole and a goalie of his experience should know that. He can bait the guy and then shut it down but he left it open and didn’t even leave his stick covering up. If you see the replay again his paddle and blade are turned out to Briz’s right, not walled up in front like it should have been. That game didn’t need to go into overtime. I don’t complain about deflections or perfectly executed scoring plays but he gets paid a lot of money to make that exact save, and any NHL goalie should. Once you get a forward to break stride and not try and blast it through you the goalie should win all of those battles.

Well the Flyers are built on a go go go situation that lends to extra chances for the other team. Bryz needs to be better but I think he will kick it up a notch.

Personally, I want the Flyers and Kings in the Finals with the obvious result with a Cup for the Flyers.

Right now, the Flyers believe...

As an old goalie myself it's my observation the Bryz can be overly aggressive on occasion. He likes to cut the angle as he should but he doesn't seem to be able to agjust laterally quickly enough. He might be better served if he hangs near the top of the paint. IMO

One word for David Poile: Respect.

One more: Balls.

My 2 cents... who ever wins tonights game wins the series ( Flyers / Devs )

Oh unless of course the Devils win, in that case the Flyers will win the series anyway! LOL

The Flyers looked like they were at least a step behind the Devils if not more on Tuesday.

I have not watched the Kings play all season except for their one loss to Vancouver. I am the Jinx. I will tune out for now. That is all.

flatbutt 05-05-2012 02:55 PM

I'll tell you guys this... the way the East is playing whichever two make it to the Conference final are going to be rostered with walking wounded.

Por_sha911 05-05-2012 03:33 PM

As I watched the double header between the Caps and the Rangers, I kept thinking if they keep this up, they will be worn out before they get to the finals.
Holtby has really shown some talent and nerves of steel. I never thought I'd say this but the Caps are one of the best teams playing right now.

Hockey is amazing. I've heard a few sports talk show hosts say in hockey the regular season doesn't matter. This season shows exactly why it IS relevant. Get IN the playoffs, fight all season to get IN the playoffs. Look what can happen, an 8 seed is most probably making it to at least the conference finals.
Middle of the road teams making awesome runs.
The Stanley Cup playoffs are the best tournament bar none.
I'm rooting for the Rangers & the Oytes.

To my Pens quickly... I like Bylsma but it was his responsibility to have arguably the most talented team ready for the playoffs and they weren't. He'l have a short leash next season.

1990C4S 05-06-2012 04:09 AM

Bylsma can't make Malkin hit the net, make his goalie have save percentage over 0.800, or have Crosby's brain back to normal. But he will be on short leash.

Caps got a lucky break yesterday. You don't normally get away with a clear trip on the power play.

I agree to a point but they were not ready to play, they lost their mojo about two weeks prior to the playoffs. On Malkin, he has not shown up two out of the past three playoff years, (of course injured last year). The talk is the Pens can't keep all three centers, Cosby, Malkin or Stahl due to salary cap issues. If it were me I'd keep Stahl. Malkin is an awesome regular season player obviously, but not an awesome playoff player at least with the Pens. This is Crosby's team maybe he just needs his own.

I'm probably going to get heat from all the Cindy lovers but I say trade Crosby. Teams that need ticket sales will pay big for him to fill seats and, he has the highest probability of being on the IR for another long stretch when someone bangs into him. Mongo Malkin is a power forward that puts a lot of points up when Crosby is hurt. Stahl is an all around value for big points yet still willing to take one for the team.

Devils have dominated EVERY game. Even with a loss in the first game. Just sayin ... Devs are looking really good right now.

funnythin coming to light in this series....everytime the Flyers sore first they lose...in fact I think we scored first in out loss in Philly. hang on to your hats boyzs game 5 is gonna get medieval.

JavaBrewer 05-06-2012 08:58 PM

LA goes through 2 teams in 9 games. I refuse to watch a game...LOL.

flskala 05-07-2012 04:30 AM

Go Devils Baby~! Must have been really disappointing for all the Flyers fans that trecked up to Newark to leave with their tails between their legs!

billybek 05-07-2012 04:37 AM

The Kings are rolling...
Completely controlled the Blues and kept them to the outside.

1990C4S 05-07-2012 07:58 AM

Devils winning may not be a good thing in general. That is boring shut-down hockey, the last five minutes was like a trip back in time, ten years or so.

Let's see what suspension comes to Giroux this afternoon. No doubt the Flyer fans who called Crosby a dirty player saw nothing wrong with a good stick hack then a shoulder to the chin.

L.A. may be better than I thought....

Hawkeye's-911T 05-07-2012 09:40 AM

Billybek is right. I must confess when Sutter took over & they away traded Jack Johnson, I thought they would tank long before now. Shows how much I know.
Cheers
JB

You are right everyone in Philly thinks it was a clean hit and wonders why he even got a penalty. After seeing Couturier get run over by Neal without a call, flyers fans kinda figured you had to take 2 headshots in one shift to get a game suspension.

Works for Ovechkin:
