Cooties

Simple discussion at the dinner table.

My daughter wanted to drink from her brothers Gatoraid bottle.

He said no.

She asked "why not"?

I said "cause you've got cooties"

She said she did not.

I said whether or not you do is not relevant.

As far as 8 yr old boys are concerned you do, everyone knows that.

You have to assume that everybody has cooties. Cause they do.

I was at one time an eight year old boy, but I never had a sister. If I had to guess, I would say that sister have extra cooties.

I wasn't there for the discussion, but I have heard that my son (roughly 8 yrs old at the time) said he wasn't worried about cooties because he had his shots.

My son is 8, oldest daughter is 11 (youngest is 17 months). No cooties to report around here from anyone.

My 8 year old son would probably just tell his sister that she is gross. No mention of cooties around here.

I don't think that your son is Howard Hughes in the making as regards avoiding germs but he is smart not to share a bottle of anything with anybody. I believe that it is in the teenage years that deadly diseases such as meningitis crop up. As my daughter used to say when she was younger, "why risk it for a biscuit"?

Oh man. I guess it was bound to happen eventually. We're screwed.
Next come the zombie cooties. Cooties are hard to kill, but zombie cooties - whoa. We are so effed.
