How to raise a mummy's boy.....
It's a fine line but there are a few examples in our neighborhood where the kids never leave home. Take one overprotective mum and they enable their child to say they cannot work due to supposed injuries. The child does not work outside the home, plays on the computer and grossly overeats. Do you say anything to the boy or mother?
I remember I started working at the age of 16 and some employers would ream me out for next to nothing. These "adults" hardly leave home and are protected by their mothers. Is this a common phenom. and how do you u handle it? Or perhaps it is none of our business because it is in somebody else's home? What do u think? |

It may be wrong, but it is not really your problem. Until they ask for your help just leave it alone.

In all reality it is too late to say anything. This should have been addressed at a very young age. The behavior is too ingrained in both but especially the mother.

Regarding your overall question, if you see a weird one/loner beginning to stock up on lots of firearms and ammo, you might wanna say something... to whom, I wouldn't know. Or not... he may know something about the zombie apocalypse that we don't. ![]()

[QUOTE=Heel n Toe;6907498]Is there supposed to be a connection between those two statements? The way you put them together at the beginning of that paragraph with "some employers would ream me out" in the middle there, leads me to think you meant something by them, but... I don't see a connection.
The connection is.... that getting your butt kicked early in life may actually be good for you. Not leaving home or not severing the knot you don't really experience so much outside family experience. Make sense? |

The title should of read- THE PUSSIFICATION OF BOYS IN THIS AND LAST GENERATION!
-First, I have seen it so obviosly in the Elementary schools. Now. The mothers are too afraid of being alone after the boy/Son leaves. She then has to live with her -marriage-. Which blows. Funny, on Thursday early evening, my somewhat new neighbor (old guy who needs a hobby and would be in heaven to not cut his grass but pluck it.) This is the old married guy/ retired that is bored to death and doe's all he can to keep away from evolving shapely wife, nagging wife, which doe's nothing around the yard. He just kicked out his 30 year old son. Quite a bit of public drama. This fella is so anxious to get out he cuts the grass twice a week. In the rain! Last week , I'm sitting on the front steps around 6pm. I hear the garage door go up. I hear this-HERB, YOU ARE ALWAYS SUCH A *****; I'M SICK OF IT! The next time you want anything from me you can ask a call-girl! The door was then fully up and they knew/saw I was there and heard the whole thing.- The door went back down. What I want to say is, yes the new boys are absolute pussies and when you get married for so long even, the old ones are. Nothing has changed!

What do you guys do when your S.O gets all crabass on you? If he reads it, he might have a chance at figuring things out... without it, he's toast. Your good deed for the week. ![]()

Now in 993 land ...

Absent father is often the cause. Absence can be constituted in many different ways: divorced and not there, present but not involved, working all the time and never home etc.
As others mentioned, I also believe this starts very early, so saying something late in the game will not make a difference. A normal kid will want to GTFO from home as soon as they can. G |

Most women can't raise boys into men. And this is news ?
Well, if you want to find the dark side of a mother, try to intervene. |

These mummy's boys are exactly what a lot of women are looking to marry too. They want somebody passive that they can lead around almost like they're on on a leash.
And guess what. These mummy's boys are looking to be bossed around. 'Everybody wins!' |

Believe me they are not receptive to any suggestions. This is not a case of schadenfreud. It is just painful to watch. |

I wasn't thinking of them being "receptive." You just don't understand my ire. I'm mostly friendly but not always kind.
