New Wireless Printer

Anyone done their research lately on a wireless printer? I bought an Epsom Artisan 700 printer a couple of years ago. It's now saying ink pads are at the end of their service life. POS.

Looking for what's next.

Thanks for all replys.

I buy cheap ones and replace every few years.

I recently bought 2 Epson all in ones. A workforce 545 and a 630. Paid $140 for the pair. Amazon has good deals on the closeout models.

So far, real happy. Performance is just fine, they scan well and the aftermarket ink is cheap and works just fine. The 545 is airprint friendly as well so it prints right from Apple devices without any setup.

The above are for home use and on my desk at work. Out in the main office we use Xerox and HP lasers. They seem to be the best (as far as the ones we have owned).

HP Officejet Pro 8600 E is home business aligned.

Holds almost a ream of paper, can print double sided, BIG user friendly touch screen.

E - print, is where you can print anything at home, from anywhere in the world if you're traveling.

A big host of features for an affordable pricepoint.

In this video, I have the unit with the bigger touch screen which on your computer screen is on the left, and the one under his right arm.

I am interested also in a printer recommendation. Mainly for school reports. Needs to be color with affordable cartridges. That HP above is nice, but I could do without WIFI, copy and scan and a hundred bucks less in price!

Any input?

We have a Brother b/w laser with wifi that we paid about $150 for. The actual printer itself has been great, but the wifi was flaky enough that I ended up plugging it into my router. It also occasionally shows as offline all the time, requiring a reset. We've had multiple Brother printers and have always been happy, the network problems are the first complaint that I've had.

I have a Brother laser color. HL series. Works well, price reasonable. I was a devotee of HP Laserjets but now tend to like Brothers just as well or a bit better.

Very happy with various HP multifunction printer/scanner combos. Excellent wireless, easy to configure, scan via local network, support for Linux, etc.

Buying a desktop inkjet printer is for suckers. They give away the printers and sell the ink for stupid prices. Buy a laser printer. I have a HP laser jet 4 sitting on my desk at home. It must be 15 years old and prints a few pages a week.

At work we have a color laser and two other B&W laser printers. They are all several years old and work fine. We do have one inkjet printer but it is 60 inches wide and takes 8 ink cartridges that are 700 ML each. Great for the occasional 5 x 10 foot print.

...................and for all those "color lasers are cheaper?" route.............ummmmmmm, you checked the price for your color toner cartridges lately?

I really wanted to get a color laser too, till I saw that toner cartridges are $70+ more each and you need a monster black one, then 3-4 of each color.

If I want photo quality, I can go get a 8x10 done at most any store for $.99 or less, 16x20's at Costco for $5.99.

My All-in-one copyier, scanner, faxer, and color HP inkjet is perfect for at home use.

I have a wide format printer that also is inkjet. Usually, I have to replace the cartridges before use. I wish I had a wide format laser!

Having owned both there is no comparison, I'll never own another inkjet. Also incredibly frustrating to always have to replace individual ink cartridges, laser you only replace one and it lasts a few thousand pages.

I have a pretty new HP CP 1020 color laserjet that has wireless printing.

Can print from the I-pad or cell phone very easily.

You guys complaining about laser cartridge prices, believe that Costco refills them, otherwise get them on the internet for 1/3rd the price.

The up front cost or "investment" is more but that will print many thousands of pages. And if it takes you 5 or 10 years the toner cartridges don't dy out and clog up.

Injet printers are like Windows PCs and laptops. They work for a few months, then stop working. Throw them in the trash and get a new one. That's been my experience, anyway

I have a HP 4050 B&W laser printer that I was given from work to use at home 11 years ago. Been through two toner cartridges in that time, thats it and I print a lot. I pay about $35 for a cartridge...

Company went tits-up 5 years ago so guess its mine. Still works like a charm!

They almost give the printer away these days. Then then make their money on the ink. Thats why I went laser.

We have an Epson R300 that prints on multiple stock and directly on CD/DVDs and it is still working fine after more than close to 10 years. 4x6 prints cost about $0.16 in ink alone and they don't run when they get wet. Paid about $200 new at Fry's.

Set back the computer clock and print, printer usually derives "date" from the computer that is printing.

If not, open it up and remove the small CR2032 battery powering internal clock.
