I've got no problem with women being at our car events.....if they WANT to be there and enjoy it, just like I am sure there are guys out there (probably not on a Porsche forum) who would love to be invited to, hell, to plan a baby shower. These guys are known as meterosexuals and live for the co-ed social event.

Unfortunately, I have been to a baby shower or two and dislike it immensely, but can take solace with the other husbands who were suckered into it.

I would rather stab myself in the hand with an ice pick than go to a baby shower...

I had to be TRICKED into going to a shower for our own first child. Everyone pitched in for a crib for the baby (Shelby). I couldn't believe they did that, because there was no way I was going to let the baby sleep anywhere but WITH ME! I bought a bike trailer for her instead so that I could take her with me all of the time! Didn't need or want no dang crib - LOL!

Also, count me in on the list of people who do not send anything until the baby is born and home. It just really bothers me. I can't imagine how awful it would be to come home from the hospital without your baby...and have an entire house full of baby gifts.

My wife and I had this discussion not long ago; I've been "co-invited" to a couple of these now. She goes, I don't.

However, apparently the etiquette is supposed to be such thaat there is only a shower for the first baby; those with vaginas like clown cars are out of luck.

One chick that I know tried to get away with two showers; she had one for "normal" friends"and another for "work friends." She was sloppy and mixed elements of set A and set B.

And for the record - the same rule applies to bridal showers - no dudes.

Baby and wedding showers are no dudes allowed. Drop off the wife, find a bar.

I got suckered into going to one baby shower once.

Never again. Ever.

I agree with holding off until the baby is practically hanging out or until after the birth. Lately I have been around too many people with problem pregnancies where an "early" shower would've been ... premature (ahem) or bad juju.

Not creepy, but a bit obnoxious

Instead of an X-Ray, I'll go to the Airport and get the TSA to save me a copy of the back scatter image...
