This is exactly why I don't like Alonso.

I don't like him either, but this sounds legit, if true. I doubt the FIA will take any action, though.

Is that the same lap when he allegedly makes the pass? Here's the video showing the pass: Adelantamiento de Vettel bajo banderas amarillas - Brasil 2012 - Audio original - sin comentarios - YouTube In this video, the marshall's stand is obscured by the telemetry. All TV stations get the same feed, right? So a lap with the telemetry showing is not the same lap as when it's not showing, right? Even so, I paused the video the best I could, and can't see the green flag waving.

The yellow flag was for poor course condtions, not a wreck. In that case, he was allowed to pass, according to the FIA.

This was discussed during the race and the explanation was that the yellow lights in that section of the track were the equivalent of a red/yellow flag (slippery track conditions).

No way they would strip the title. Maybe a fine but that is it.

Yes, it is the same lap. Look at the youtube video with the telemetry from 0:12 to 0:17 or so - you will see the two big rain drops going down the camera lens, one in the center that eventually obscures the red light array on the steering wheel, and the other that eventually "hits" the left rear view mirror. Same droplets are visible in the video without the telemetry. Telemetry is dubbed in by the TV station, and not all do it, even though they share the same feed. Seb is innocent.

I don't like alonso because someone else besides him asked for an interpretation of the rules because millions of dollars is at stake and I decided to blame alonso for it because i don't like him because someone else did something that I blame alonso for even though he didn't like it just because I don't like him .......... I couldn't stand to look myself in the mirror if i was that emotional and illogical.

| What the ? |
Looks like a white flag for slower moving cars, there is no yellow/red its one or the other. White could be telling Vettel to look out for the slower cars. Should have been a Blue passing to the cars in front of Vettel to let them know he is coming. Poor track surface would be the "debris"flag. Ya Alonso is a whinny *****.

His performance this year has earned him that no matter what the emotions tell the voices. but all over this thread, people are jumping on the i hate alonso bandwagon for something alonso did not do. If you dislike alonso for something HE did, fine. Whatever makes you FEEL good. But to dream up stuff to blame him for is ............. well it makes me think that someone needs to lay off the estrogen. I saw the yellow light on the telebision. It was not white, it was not green. It was yellow. AFAIK that typically means at least a local yellow flag in F1 but I'm not an F1 official. My bet is no one in this thread is either. The explanation given on the telebision was that that light meant track condition was less than stellar. Gee, I wonder if the drivers trying to find some visibility in the spray needed a light to tell them the obvious. I also heard the announcers, who are better informed than i am re: F1, say they've never seen that before. So maybe the yellow track condition light was a new thing, maybe it was new to this track, maybe it was discussed in the pre-race driver's meeting, i dunno. I was not there. but here's the facts: usually a yellow light means a local yellow. There was a yellow light. It MIGHT have meant something else besides what is typically means. It might have been something new that F1 has come up with and that the fans and announcers were not aware of. That is up to the people that enforce the rules, and understand the rules, and that were in the pre-race driver's meeting to decide. So ferrari asks for an interpretation, an explanation, an investigation. Let the experts decide, all they did was file a formal request for a decision. Can anyone here WHO IS HONEST say that red bull would not file the same thing if the roles were reversed? I seriously doubt it. Making a knee-jerk reaction based on only a smidgeon of information is something that people do when emotion controls their thoughts and actions, not something grown men should aspire to. Spock would be ashamed. Last edited by sammyg2; 11-28-2012 at 07:32 PM..

However there is this. "Hydrocket FIA does stand for Ferrari International Assistance...so you never know..." If the offending car was a Mclaren, History would lead to the thought that there would certainly be a penalty. Red Bull not so much. That is a problem for me with F1, very inconsistent stewarding!!! no comment buy rules in F1 get pushed to the limit and a little beyond on and off the track, will be intereting to see where the limits are on this
