Picked up another nice Unimog Doka last week!

Picked up another nice 1978 Unimog Doka last week, and thought I would share some photos of it. Has a factory rebuilt motor dated 95'. Runs and drives like it should, but will need some TLC, and new shoes to be perfect. I am just going to flip this one as it is, so if you are interested let me know!

Oh man, I REALLY want a Mog. Or a Pinzgauer, or a Volvo rescue...

But especially a Mog. The funny thing is, that one you've got there is pretty much exactly what I want. Time for a lottery ticket!

It has a 5.7L diesel motor and this one has standard gearing, which is 6.56/1. Giving a top speed of about 55MPH with the tires it has now. But the gearing can be changed to make it go 75MPH if one wanted. As to where I find all of these fine trucks, I just keep my eyes open and look for them, and people contact me as well. So if anyone is interested, just give me a shout.

I think it will be very easy, I believe the old diesels are exempt from smog check.

So, no excuses there Vash!

Maybe you can leave it in Rick Lee's garage to avoid upsetting the wife!

Awesome. No idea what I would use it for except for pissing off my neighbors, but I want one.

Guys, I drive this yellow one just about every day. Hell it gets better fuel mileage than my Jeep Grand Cherokee with V8! I get close to 15 MPG in the Unimog while the Jeep only gets 13 MPG around town if I am lucky. Plus I make biodiesel so the cost is less as well. Very easy to park, as it will turn in a 38' circle. It can be licensed in all 50 states with no issues. And it does piss some people off, but then I think most of them drive Prius's, so I don't give a **** is they are pissed! But most people love it and ask about it where ever I go. If at Home depot, it takes 5 min. just to get into the store, because someone will stop you and ask about the truck. There have been times when a crowd gathers, and all the cell phones come out for photos. (not of me, the truck).
