Surprised nobody's mentioned it, but maybe it's just assumed: the real failing of Storage Wars is that these folks say "oh, that's worth $300" on various cr@p they uncover and that's the amount calculated into their "scorecard." Perhaps that's a retail price, but there'll be selling costs and storage costs before that and opportunity cost, having time and money tied up in the item.

I refuse to watch these "reality" shows any more, they poison the mind and leave a stink in your soul.

I wonder sometimes if filth such as these shows depicts behaviours that the weak minded start to think of as "normal", showing people at their worst behaviour, put on for the camera. I fear it creates a distorted picture of unjust enrichment, that there must be a pony under every Christmas tree and if you do not get "your share" then it must be someone's fault.

I find these shows fundamentally dishonest, evil and without any socially redeeming quality.

And yet millions watch, their minds turned to mental mush. It is disgusting

"Great! I'm actually a producer on the tv show Barter Kings on A&E. Unfortunately we can't buy the hovercraft but would love to rent it for a one day shoot if possible. Would you be interested in that? I'd love to chat with you about this and discuss a rental fee you'd be comfortable with. "

Thank you!

"Hi ,
I hope all is well. Would you be willing to rent us the hovercraft again? Unfortunately we still have the issue of the small budget but would we be able to rent it from you for $600 or so for a day? "

Thanks!

"Barter Kings"

my response to her

im sorry but i wont be able to help you out with that for 600. one i moved since the last time we spoke. but my craft is in my house in perris, ca. so for me to drive down there to accommodate your show for 600 is not possible. i am sorry i cannot work with you on this. the best i can do for you is 1500 for 8hr shoot.

I have spent many hours (over 500) filming there on many productions, sometimes till 2-3 o'clock in the morning. I have NEVER seen anything out of the ordinary, doors slamming, wailing cries, cold wind brushing by, etc.

A whole lotta hooey if you ask me.
Same.
She's been wanting to go Ghost Hunting lately. We've gone to a few, and of course nothing happens. I go to appease her.
We went about two weeks ago. I got some dark footage on my cell phone.

I'm tempted to do a little audio manipulation to the video, at one point where her little gizmo starts going off... tempted to use a Talk-Box and guitar to create "EVP" and splice it into the video. Something that would be scary to her. Really scary.

That was always good for a laugh. $100 Walmart lawnmower - "this here lawnmower is nice, that's $300 right there". How many people are going to lose their ass buying storage units because they think the show is real?
