Hi
|
Well It's Colonoscopy Time
Hello Everyone,
![]() I hope all of you have had a nice Christmas. ![]() I know a lot of you have had your colonoscopy already, well now it's my turn. I start drinking the magic potion this afternoon and things should kick into high gear a little bit later I suppose. ![]() Not much scares me, I'll stand toe to toe with any man but these medical procedures get me shakin' in my boots. I'm just plain chicken. I'm a little bit nervous when it comes to things like this. Wish me luck. ![]()

Good luck! Swallow a macadamia nut whole after the "discharge" ends. Give the doc something to look for! JK. I'm a few years away.

I've seen colonoscopy pathology reports read "vegetable matter". They were accompanied by a $300 bill.

Just hope you do not get someone like the doctor that rode with Burt Reynolds in the Cannon Ball movie! Seriously though, they put you to sleep for a short while so you get to miss all the nurses comments and such!

I think it's the easiest procedure ever. Because of the anesthesia, you probably won't remember anything, but when the girl starts giving you the anesthesia, you will suddenly realize she is the most beautiful woman you've ever seen, and you will remind yourself to ask her to marry you in the recovery room.
Just do what the instructions say, and you'll be fine. And "Negative, Ghost Rider" on what Vash said... _ |

Good luck to you. I dont care for the insides of my body. Its all a mystery and I think I.prefer it that way. My dentist has me on the "bad list".
I have to have an endoscopy (down the throat) next month. I hope they have two sets of scopes! |

The prep is the worst part. I have had a few. But the knowledge that you are totally cleaned out is kind of nice.

FWIW, there are no conventional nerve blocks that cover a colonoscopy well. Several folks do them stone sober every year. I reality, most people get sedated to cover their psyche...much more so than discomfort they might experience. I can understand it but there are a lot of very routine colonoscopies that proceed and end so quickly that the most dangerous part of the procedure would seem to have been the sedation. YMMV.

mine was fraught with "discomfort" - if I didn't have some psychological need akin to the needs that send people into SF or USMC, I'd have used the nerve block or anesthesia offerred
I enjoyed looking up my own azz and seeing the light tho. also, the GI doc didn't know me so when I said "hey - is that bilirubin?" he wonndered how I knew that I did walk and jog home, but it was only a couple of miles... anyway ENJOY!! keep telling yourself that is is a lot better than that type of cancer -- 'cuz it is |

Nothing to it, I could teach a monkey how to take one.
Mine was scheduled for the first one in the morning, still made it to work at 9am. Last thing I remember was them asking if i wanted my pillow adjusted. Jim

Funny, when I first brought up the off topic page, this and the California gun buy-back thread were right above and below one another. I'm sure that's just blind ass luck.

Targa me, I've had two coloscopies in the past 4 years and neither one was bad at all. Actually, a root canal is far worse, IMHO... The prep is the worst part. Good luck!!
