| G'day! |
I have known some. They do not wear the pants in the family when it eventually happens. That's just an amateur observation. My oldest brother, I love him but, when he and his first wife split up - it was all I heard (for several years mind you) - about his misery until he gets married again. I kept telling him to enjoy the single life while he can! Like talking into the wind. Then a couple buddies who were dumped and hence forth were miserable if not TOTALLY obsessed with getting re-married. Again I shared with them the virtues of being single. Of being free! But alas to no avail. All of these personalities seem to be the type who could be stay-at-home husbands while the wife brought home the bacon. Harsh I know but again just my observations. I'll never get it....

Almost every single couple we have known as a married couple have divorced... We're at the phase of our life when we attend our friend's parent's funerals, friend's kid's graduations and hear about all of their marital problems and inevitablel divorces. Sucks...

I remember how happy I was, in college, single. I was nearly as happy as I am now. Single.

Once upon a time, an airline pilot asked a beautiful princess, "Will you marry me?" The princess said, "No!" And so the pilot lived happily ever after and flew jets all over the world and drove hot cars and banged skinny long-legged flight attendants and hunted and fished and went to topless bars and dated women half his age and drank whiskey and Captain Morgan and never heard bitc*ing and never paid child support or alimony and kept his house and guns and ate cold spam and potato chips and beans and blew enormous farts and never got cheated on while he was at work and all his friends and family thought he was frickin' cool as hell and he had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up.

It can be a lonely world. We always want what we can't have (or think we can't have).

If you need the captive attention, a $500 hooker is cheaper than a bad wife, and you get a happy ending every time !

I can't decide what is sadder. The guys who are desperate to get married or the bitter divorced guys who are so jaded about marriage. I hope I never end up in either camp....

Knew an ugly redhead at work many years ago. that was all she ever talked about. It was hard to keep from saying "get over it, you have a face made for spinsterhood". And the truth is there wern't enough whiskey in all of Tennessee.

It's in the big plan. Man and woman get married and have babies. Marriage does not guaranty happiness but they have produced children. Life continues. 2nd point. I quote, "you are borne alone, live alone and die alone". And anything else above that is a bonus. Hope this philosophy moderates those with high expectations whatever their status is.

The only thing worse than being alone....is wishing you were. Stay unmarried.

Funny this thread popped up. I have a friend like that. Pretty girl, smart, makes more money than any guy I know, active, has a lot of hobbies. Her only flaw? She believes guys are like the guys in chick flicks and REEKS of desperation to get married. If only she would chill, she would get her pick of guys. I watch shaking my head. Her goal every time we go out is to find a dude. I get tired of it so I can just imagine how a guy would feel. She just turned 40 this last year and it hit her quite hard because she thought she would be married with kids by now. It really is a shame. Like I said, she is totally the pick of the crop except for her neediness. Don't know how I can help her snap out of it.
