I have looked for 2010s and all of them are about 28-30k with more miles. I want a 4WD. Milage to me isn't a big concern for me with these cars. I like the 60-70k ones because the value drops like a stone. The older ones are a little small for us. Any thoughts?

Again, if you've decided you're buying a three year old 4Runner Limited, and the one with 26K miles is a 4WD for $31K, you can't go wrong. That's a good deal.

Interesting to know the premiums on 4Runners haven't gone away.
In 2005 we were shopping for an SUV that would be my winter car and eventually my sister's dd. I really wanted to get a 4Runner. We found one we liked, 2001 with 65k miles, selling for $19.5k. It was above the budget so I had to look at other makes/models. We enes up getting a 2001 Nissan Xterra equipped basically the same as the 4Runner with 51k miles for $12.5k. I thinks it just about impossible to justify the premium that the Toyota brings. |

$31k......damn. While I love the 4Runner and think it's the best midsized SUV you can buy, that's a lot of money for a 2010. When buying a car that can go 200k pretty easily, does it make sense to pay a premium for low mileage? Just for fun I built a new Trail model on the Toyota website that added up to just a bit over $39k MSRP.

What are the new ones actually selling for? When we were Tundra shopping last year they knocked a $38k MSRP truck down to $33k without me even trying to negotiate. Seems like getting a new one for a few thousand more than a used one would be worthwhile if possible.

The last time I looked, they are close to 40. I really like to pay no more then 25-27000 for a use one, but not too many are available. the new body style is a bit larger then the old, so that works for us. Peraonally, I think they are jpretty ugly. |

I understand the point you are tying to convey, but damn the base model Cayenne looks goofy. One size too small wheels and a V6, blah. At least the V8 and Turbo are fast.

Look 171, look at what Kaisen posted. A 4runner is similar price at a same year Cayenne. If we see you in a 4runner, I bet you that some of us will get down and beat you up

I like the new Explorer, but I'd take my old 2003 4Runner over that generation. That's a good reminder of just how much Ford has improved their products in the last couple of years.
If you get a Cayenne, you gotta go for the S model. If nothing else just because they sound really nice. For some reason the S model with the V8 seems like less of a poser mobile, the V6 model always strikes me as the Touareg with the Porsche badge.
