I could do that. It doesn't matter if you fall off a 30 foot ladder or that tower. Same result. I have worked construction at heights and it didn't bother me after a few days. You just have to remind yourself to be careful.

I am surprised that they let the guys free-climb that much. You'd think OSHA and the unions would be all over that.

Sometimes I wish I had a physical job like that. Instead I am sedentary all day and have to push myself to run around nights to burn of steam.

I'm not afraid of heights, I rock climb. But damn, that nearly made me sick.

I can't believe those guys can make it to the top with their 40 lbs brass nuts dragging behind them.

The wind must be pretty brutal. That's probably where it is much different from a 30 foot ladder.

I view the video again and notice the gloves they use are just general leather gloves from the hardware store. My hand will sweat so much they will slip fight off. How is it that bad of tools did not get stuck. I know there's another man down a ways, but he wasn't there dealing with the bag all the time. You would think that damn hook will be the first to go and hook to something whenever he stopped?

You'd think they would develop a better way.

Large service platforms.

I mean, really?!?
The higher they go, the small the hand holds get?

Put the tools in a back pack.

Totally insane!!

Why do they put the electrical box all the way up there? Wouldn't it make more sense to just stick it at the bottom?

I got that tingly feeling in my balls and pissed myself just watching that. I'm not good with heights like that.

Would be cool if you could take a parachute up there and just tower jump to get down!

The parachute would have to be something special. It has to be deployed, open and slow you down in less than 10 seconds.

Yes, but they are planning to jump. They do not have to figure out what to do in a panic in far less than 10 seconds.

Cool. That is one of those things that I would be scared to death to do, but man, the thrill of that climb calls to me.

There is no room for a back pack and the climber in the "stairwell". The metal cage that protects you from falling back or to the side.

Hey Z-Man!

Do you know of the similar video to the Caminito del Rey that is in China or Tibet?

Prolly only thing I have ever seen that could be more dangerous is the high voltage lineman guy who repairs the main voltage transmission wires while dangling from a Helicopter. You got like a million volts per line, 500-700 ft off of the ground, Helicopter hovering near a steel tower.

What could possibly go wrong?
