Maybe. But Telsa, which also received a $500MM loan under the same George Bush-started green vehicle loan program under which Fisker received $200MM, just became profitable. Win some, lose some. Not that FOX will ever mention the wins, or the fact that the loan program was started by a Republican president.

I read the complete article in the LA Times today and I'd say that most companies on life support like this one do not make it w/o total reorganization. So, yes, it's gone. There are, however, ways to make this car once again. I doubt many of them are all the viable, though. There's already talk of a new model after only 2000 of the old one. The manufacturer of the batteries is dead and now owned by a Chinese firm.

All the players are on the board and the 2 pawns have been moved into position. I think it's China's move.

Tesla did not just become profitable. They are projected to post another large loss in fact.

How does anyone spend (I.E. LOSE) half a trillion dollars?

Solyndra- Empty factory made of gold. To be auctioned off....
Fisker- Elite sports car run by foreigners.
Tesla- Elite sports car run by foreigners. (Although Musk has made other tech progresses, I object to the name usage.)

~$1.5 Trillion in green political distraction games, and nothing acheived.

Heard about this - one of our clients just invested in getting ground broken on a Fisker dealership. I think they're just become another CDJR store.

Chrysler made cars though, I don't think we ever bailed out E-Z-Go.

If your business requires subsidies to make sense, failure is inevitable when the well dries up.

This^

This should also drive away private investment in subsidized companies, as a simple change in the political winds can quickly gut such an investment.
