Instructions: How to use of cabbage leaf compresses

1. Purchase a head of common green cabbage at the grocery store.
2. Remove the core and gently peel individual leaves away from the center of the head pulling outward. Try to avoid tearing the leaves, but it's OK if they shred a little.
3. Thoroughly wash the leaves.
4. Leaves can be chilled in the refrigerator for extra benefits. Cool compresses tend to relieve swelling more effectively than warm compresses. Some women find that crushed ice placed over the cabbage leaves also helps. ***
5. Just before use, crush the veins in the leaf with a rolling pin (or similar object), or slice off the tops of the "veins" with a sharp knife.
6. Drape several leaves over each breast. Use enough to cover ALL the engorged tissue, including any swollen tissue under your arms.
7. Leave the compress on until the leaves become wilted, about 20 to 30 minutes. (See Joan Fisher's tips below.)
8. Repeat application of cabbage leaves three or four times (about every 4 to 6 hours) per 24 hours, until engorgement subsides (usually in 1 or 2 days). If the engorgement is severe, compresses can be used as often as needed.
9. For the mother who is not breastfeeding, continuous cabbage compresses can also be used to help reduce the swelling in her breasts.
10. Discontinue direct use immediately if skin breaks out, blisters, or becomes irritated. (Should this happen, please email me the details.)
11. Place the leaves so they do not touch any already irritated areas, or broken skin.

$20 for a hair cut? $36 for a hair cut? Wow.

I pay $6.25 at a barber down the street, ex-military guy. By the time I factor in a tip its darn near $7.

It used to be $5.75, I was pissed when he jacked up the prices. Greedy bastage.

Yes correct but the side effect is it dries up your milk... which is not good. You typically use cabbage if a child weans or you are intending to dry it up for whatever reason.
They get bigger when you are b/f there's not really any way to get around that. And subsequently they go downnn. While I find it amusing to discuss b/f ing on a board full of men, it's irrelevant they are fixed and as shallow as I considered it I'm happy with the decision to fix them. No plans for any other cosmetic procedures.

BTW, the cabbage doesn't dry up the milk. According to the website.

Cabbage leaves just relieve engorgement of the breasts... Has nothing to do with long term results.

I color my hair which covers the gray. I have whitened my teeth in the past. That's it. Have considered injections (Botox or juvaderm) but I have always found something better to spend my money on. Three of the five females in my family have gotten breast implants... Not against it but definitely not high up on my list. I have had friends who have had the "mommy makeover", breasts, lipo, mini facelift, etc. They look awesome. But honestly? My girlfriends that have tiny love handles, or a couple of laugh lines around their eyes, their natural breasts, even after having children, who have gotten semi-hot bodies the old fashioned way by working out and eating right, I have WAY more admiration for them. Not necessarily because they avoided plastic surgery, but I find those people (who work out, struggle to lose weight, etc) are such motivated people and have a really healthy perspective of themselves and life. I like that. They try to improve themselves but learn in the process. And if they aren't perfect, that's ok. I like people who accept their shortcomings. My friends who have plastic surgery, I find they talk about it...A LOT. I get bored and try to find women with muffin tops to run a half marathon with.

No offense , but I'm not going to argue with a man about
lactation best practices. If the Internet says it it must be true for everyone. If cabbage keeps boobs from sagging/deflating than every woman in the world should be pissed.

I don't have a problem talking about mine because I feel like they were sacrificed for a noble cause and I'm not ashamed to have done it. That and I always feel as if its thought to be shallow to get implants but, feeling good about myself counts for something, who cares what others think of it.

In the end, that's what matters. Whether from surgery or not, it doesn't matter what anybody says except for you.

I have a handful of tattoos, none of which can be seen at work. I had three earrings when I was younger but I stopped wearing them shortly after I graduated college.
Then there is an assortment of scars and dental work from just being a boy in middle of nowhere CT. This probably caused my mother to go gray at an early age with all of the trips to the emergency room.

I need to try the cabbage thing. Does it reduce man boobs too? Or is it just for support. On the other end, is it better than ironing?
