Sounds like a good plan to me. I have noticed alot of houston/woodlands pelicanites lately. Even better I have noticed alot of oil pumpers on the road lately. It would be cool to have some sort of drinking event thinly vieled as a car thing.

Todd, I agree with you almost 100%. The replies definitely turned this thread towards a positive. I don't think I've ever started a thread that disparaged anyone on any PP forum. I know I've apologized for a few outbursts however.

I suppose we proved the OP's point...we arrogantly dismissed his claims and went about having out own brand of fun.

My old HP. I resisted for several semesters (of course I was poor and saving money for an HP meant I couldn't drink on weekeknds) thinking I can beat them dudes with their fancy graphincal calculators with a simple TI and my smarts...

What I fool I was...so I realized after I bought the HP. Having the right tool make s abig difference. I use to store phone numbers in this thing...the days before a PDA.

Unfortunately at times I have to alter or reject the information provided by engineers. Nope... not a PE but rather 30 yrs in construction and 10 of that as inspector/plans examiner and what's called a Master Code Professional.
The same that there are egotistical codes guys the same goes with engineers. I've made a call more than a few times posed as "educate me here on what you are doing".... and gotten really great information when handled correctly. A few of those responses were so far over my head structurally I'm sure a "duhhh" came through the phone.
In the end if a project has their stamp on it it's their license not mine on the line.

A real thing of beauty is when the engineers and the tradesmen are a team. NOTHING is impossible! A great brain without a great set of hands is a waste of both.
