I thought Extraction 2 was very good. Stellar action (maybe too much), Idris Elba in there was good, the kid who played Sandro sucked. Started out like Steven Seagal's Hard to Kill. IMO the original was better, but that's usually what happens. Clearly set up a sequel here. I'd appreciate a better plot better written.

Florida Man - 7-part series on Netflix.

If you like well-written stories about smart and not-so-smart criminals that sometimes bumble through their capers in the vein of Cohen Brothers films, this is for you.

Don't watch any trailers... just dive in. You will thank me.

A healthy dose of humor awaits.

Anyone see "No Hard Feelings" yet?

Wrath of Becky. Sort of a Kill Bill sort of movie. No name actors. Not too long and I made it to the end. Not likely to win any awards but it has some fun moments.
Also tried to watch Renfield, a Nick Cage vampire movie. Didnt make it to the end.
No hard feelings. Jennifer Lawrence gets naked. Worth watching.

Just watched, Reality. True story about Reality Winner who was charged with leaking secret government documents to the press. Sort of an interesting story. Not exciting but interesting, to me at least.

Yes this guy probably has people weighing his meals, coaching his work outs and all that but there's no denying that he's got skills and balls.

Sounds like a girl I dated years ago. She was a recovering alcoholic/drug addict who worked as the head Chef in a very busy restaurant... She owned a custom made canvas knife roll that was full of "Made in Germany" knives. That roll went everywhere with her and she was totally Bonkers! :( (True story)

Anyone seen the new Indiana Jones flick?

It did not shine at the box office.

stevej37 07-02-2023 04:17 PM

^^^ Have not yet....I'm sure I will be disappointed.
Might be better off to see 'Barbie'

Steve Carlton 07-02-2023 04:37 PM

I'll wait for it to stream. I've heard the characters are good, but the constant low quality CGI chase scenes suck. I'm a huge fan of Mads Mikkelsen and Phoebe Waller-Bridge, so I look forward to being disappointed for free later on.

On BBC America right now "The Transporter".

This along with "The Usual Suspects" were DVDs we took on our surf trip to Nicaragua. Can't remember the others.

Watched the original Robert Altman version of M*A*S*H from 1970.

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped..._poster%29.jpg

Some insanely funny scenes, and bits I'd long forgotten about, like a young Robert Duvall (pre Godfather) wearing a straight jacket, and then the late Sally Kellerman's unwelcome 'reveal' of do the drapes match the carpet? The football game, featuring 'Spearchucker Jones' had me crying with delight. This film is an absolute treasure, and if you've never seen it before, it's only $4 to stream via Amazon.

Just watched one me and the Wife recorded on TCM "Noir Alley".

"Storm Warning" with Ginger Rogers, Doris Day, Ronald Reagan and Steve Cochran.

Excellent and kept us both in suspense. Had never seen it and my Wife is a huge Ginger and Doris fan.

Crystal Skull was so bad I'm skipping the new Indiana Jones movie.

The original Raiders of the Lost Ark was outstanding on so many levels, sometimes sequels are better left not being made.

techweenie 07-03-2023 09:05 AM

The woman in charge of Lucasfilm division of Disney seems to want to establish new replacement characters to continue the franchises of Star Wars and Indiana Jones.

Consensus is, she’s doing such an awful job she’s going to be fired.

I hate the corporations treating original stories like cash cows to be progressively dumbed down and exploited in sequels thoughtlessly. I’m not sure whether Fast and Furious or Marvel are the worst. Or Jurassic Whatever.

Agree, it's a shame when a singular great movie gets turned into a "franchise" (though I think a few of the James Bond films could be exceptions).

Raiders of the Lost Ark would have been great all by itself. Another great film that I am thrilled to have never had a sequel: Midnight Run.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1688411559.jpg

Both will be out on July 21st:

Too bad they could not have waited and released both on this anniversary:
