Denzel has become one of my fav. actors. He excels in roles like this - much like Liam Neeson does.

Watched this one this afternoon on TCM, one of my favourites......really great cast, too!

I have GOT to get out more. I had never heard of the Equalizer movies.

I watched the first one Friday evening and the second one yesterday. While I am not a big fan of violence in movies, I enjoyed them both.

Thanks!

"Knives Out".

A bit "Clue" or "Hitchcock"-like. And of course there are a few plots twists..

Great actors camera music sets and plot writing. Watching now and no flaws so far other than limited sets if you don't mind nice houses.
A nice slow-medium boil and re-watchable more than a few times.

I liked it. Very old school type movie. Agatha Christie style.

The Suicide Squad. Possibly the most absurd movie Ive ever seen but one look at that Margot Robbie smile and I had to watch to the end.

Oh and don't forget Mr. Hercule Poirot spinoff as well. Her partner.

Both were too slow for modern times.
And also too slow for old Chinese gun-fu Golden Harvest films.

I don't know, F9 was incredibly absurd..
A car swinging over a canyon like Tarzan and a Pontiac in space???

The "Fast and Furious" franchise has become a victim of its own success.

It seems that nothing is too outrageous for adolescent males.

(I haven't watched F9)

Possible. I have not watched the F&F series. I made about 10 minutes into the first one and became predjudiced against it.

Movie nerd time...
You of course meant to say, that it's the original REMAKE, right? Because, it's not the original...

Kurosawa's original is available on several streaming sites for very little dinero. Well worth the 3+ hours, and amazing to see how many iconic scenes from The Magnificent Seven were taken whole and complete from the original, in an act of honor.

Cruella. A comedy but I did nott find it that funny. Maybe I expect too much. It did have some good music here and there.

We saw "Nine Days" last week. Not a movie most people would llike - I think. It was slow, no action, no sexy actresses, or anything like that. Oddly enough we both liked it though. I can't recommend it to most people.

I haven't watched F1 thru 8 either.

Did a search and it is doing well on Rotten Tomatoes. Looks interesting.

I’ll watch it when it hits Roku, etc.

Thanks!

This thread has been gold.

"Jaws" on AMC. Started about a half hour ago.

Best movie ever made! :D

Steve Carlton 08-12-2021 05:52 PM

Have you seen Duel? Spielberg's first feature length film, made for TV, then released to the theaters. I'm not saying it's his best, but it's very good. A bit of a sleeper. Don't watch the trailer- it'll give too much away.

Baz 08-12-2021 06:01 PM

I've seen "Duel".

"Jaws" is on a whole other level.

Shaw's best performance.

Scheider's best performance.

And Dreyfuss' best performance.

IMHO.....
