For our 7th grade field trip we got to choose to go to see Ice Station Zebra or 2001: A Space Odyssey. I took the loftier choice and never saw the other. I probably should now...

It's been a long time since I saw A Room With a View. It's outstanding, has a stellar cast, and one of the best endings I've ever seen.

'No Hard Feelings' on Netflix starring Jennifer Lawrence.
Slightly raunchy but fun movie.

Oh...I almost forgot....JL has an extended nude scene. :)

^ I thought the movie was pretty funny!

^^^ I was completely fooled by Percy's father....Mathew Broderick.
Didn't recognize him until the credits.

Reminds me of a date I went on once.

Early stages of the relationship and I really liked her.

As a gentleman I asked her which movie she'd prefer. She chose "Liar Liar" over "The Saint".

Fark.

To this day I believe that stupid movie wrecked what could have been a really nice rest of the evening - and I'm not talking about sex - just good vibes the rest of the evening.

The Saint was just a cool movie with great romance. Liar Liar....more about slapstick style humor.....and so kinda dumb.

Choices, huh? Probably just as well.......and destiny.......

Just finished watching Ice Station Zebra. I missed it for 55 years. I should have waited another 55 years. It kind of sucked.

If you watched it back as a young man, I bet you would have liked it. :)

I'm a big John Sturges fan, Bad Day At Blackrock is one of my favorites.

If you didn't catch Mystery Street you missed out. One of his early movies with a young Ricardo Montalban and Elsa Lanchester....

Something interesting I didn't know about Ricardo Montalban...

This is one of the last motion pictures in which Ricardo Montalban can be seen walking or running normally, and even playing handball in one scene. The following year, during the filming of "Across the Wide Missouri," Montalban was thrown from a horse and trampled, causing severe back injuries. Montalban was in constant pain for the rest of his life, and unable to walk without a severe limp. His physical limitations were often masked by directors not showing him moving about during a scene. Instead, he typically would be shot standing or sitting, and if he had to appear to walk, the camera usually cut away just as he began to move. (Similar techniques would be used with game show emcee Bill Cullen, whose ability to walk was similarly impaired by childhood polio.) Montalban underwent an operation in 1993 to try to correct the problem, but instead ended up paralyzed below the waist.

I probably would have. I’m more discriminating now. The movie was shot on 70mm film and it shows in HD. The submarine and underwater scenes were impressive for 1968. For me, the storyline was super weak.

Right. Also , back then it didn’t take much to pull in a viewer. The average viewer was in at the first thought of Russian villains, or spies.

Baz owes me $2.99

I guess things don't change that much after all. Just the details.
