Another thing I've never heard of...

Now I gotta look into Dexter and Chuck, where will I find the time?

I watched Black 47 again just now- it felt necessary. Even better. Powerful in a the way that Last of the Mohicans was.

Death Proof. Tarentino. Back half dialog among four babes is gold. Kurt Russell is a sicko.

See 50:30 in if you want to skip it. The whole movie is on YouTube.

(No spoilers)

What really got to me is what happens to his sister in law. Tragic doesn't really describe it appropriately.

And I really liked that their muskets and rifles would fail to fire. That's a very accurate detail of the movie.

El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie. Oct 11 release on Netflix and 'select theaters'. It picks up with Jesse escaping the compound. Trailer looks good!

Nocturnal Animals. Possibly the worst movie I ever watched. I normally give up after 15 minutes. Not this time. After all Amy Adams is hot. I kept hoping it would get better. Two hours of terrible.

I'm going to see Joker tonight. I think Joaquin Phoenix is a good choice for this.

My kid just took off to see it eight minutes ago.

I was very disappointed. Very dark and sad, I wasn’t entertained at all. Joaquin’s portrayal was awesome, but not an enjoyable story. Heath Ledger was a lot more fun to watch.

My kid had mixed feelings. He used the term dark but also had praise.

A couple movies that disappeared from our city library selection:

Come And See.
Russian boy in WW2. Horrifying.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G0Qi3v4rAvA
(Excellent movie but dubbed and screen within a screen. This link is in a thoroughly stupid format.)

The Emperor's Naked Army Marches On.
Japanese soldier tracks down former comrades to find out what happened to his friends. The ending is.....

Good Burger.
Dumb comedy but funny as heck.

Couple documentaries:

Sinking Cities.
NYC, Tokyo, London. Miami. All the best creative engineering to deal with metropolises built on swamps. Recommended.

Genesis 2.0
Siberians hunt mammoth tusks in the tundra to engineer the return of a lost species.
Very slow but with kickers near the end. (spoiler)

Starving The Beast.
Universities vs. 'certain' government leaders on funding. Very heady full of bureaucratic jargon.

How The States Got Their Shapes.
History trivia and travel delivered through an easy watching fun platform. Recommended.

Grateful Dead- Long Strange Trip.
2-disk glossy/hazy/wandering documentary which somehow manages to not say anything about the band members, the political times, the music scene, etc.

Criminal. Kevin Costner badassery. I had a hard time getting through it.
Justice League. Batman, Wonder Woman and other super heroes. Target audience was probably 16 year olds. I am 66 and for some reason I really liked this movie.

flipper35 10-17-2019 08:04 AM

Wonder Woman makes them more watchable.

sc_rufctr 10-18-2019 02:40 AM

Wonder Woman is probably one of the best Super Hero movies of all time.

This was on yesterday - one of my favourite Christopher Walken movies:

And with Anthony Zerbe - another actor I love to watch.
