The tax driver would have been a witness to him chasing down the other assassins.

'Silent Night' looks very interesting.

The Ferrari movie looks ok...Penelope might save it.:)

We watched the Red Tent last night on Amazon Prime.
A 1968 Russian/Italian film about an ill-fated dirigible flight over the north pole in 1928.
I had never heard of this event but it was well told.
It reminded me of the Big Carnival by Billy Wilder.

Starred Sean Connery, Peter Finch. and Claudia Cardinale.

Little under an hour left for "Around the World in 80 Days" on TCM.

1956 and a young & beautiful Shirley MacLaine.

Amazing cast and fantastic movie. The End Credits one of the best ever, too. One of my all time favs. Look for the piano player - Old Blue Eyes! :)

As always........commercial free!

Saw Napoleon.
Worth seeing; just go with low expectations.

This was posted on another forum I frequent:

Just went to see Napoleon. Bottom line: I liked it.
Pluses: Not much of the battle scenes are CGI. They did not take too many liberties with the history (but they did take some). They covered 26 years with a sufficient depth in 2 hours and 30 minutes.
Minuses: Napoleon was too old (except for the Waterloo and St. Helena scenes). Josephine was too young.

My biggest critique is that Napoleon was an absolute genius (the kind of guy who can play ten chess games at one time blindfolded; that kind of genius). He won the siege of Toulon by looking, realizing a fort at a certain point would make Toulon untenable for the British. He tried to build a fort there. The Brits mowed down the guys building the fort (because they knew what it meant). Napoleon renamed it "Fort of Men without Fear (Fort des Hommes sans Peur), got plenty of volunteers to build the fort, and led them in trying again succeeding this time. The Brits withdrew the next day.
The movie shows Napoleon leading a charge at Toulon. (This is more dramatic but less cerebral).
Napoleon at Austerlitz baited the Austrians into attacking (Napoleon desperately needed them to attack him) and when, where, and in the manner they attacked. The movie addressed this French troops using canvas tarps as camouflage. Again, clever, but not nearly as clever as the real story.
