I enjoyed it. It has a kindness and sweetness to it. It was like a cross between E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial and Cocoon, but much more basic.

Not much similarity, but it made me think of Robot and Frank, which is also quirky and wonderful.

Produced by the Obamas... should you be surprised?

I went and saw Shift last week. I thought they did a great job, it seemed to be an original idea and it had solid production value. They used the pay it forward concept at the end so those of you that want to can get no cost passes.

Perhaps you should read before you write.

It’s all about the ROI.

Any film that has name recognition is cheaper to market. Studio decision makers believe it doesn’t have to be good to get eyeballs.

Still, we can hope it’s no Dial of Destiny.

Note that some of the original cast are present in the trailer.

Is this the retelling of the biblical account of Job? It is on my list to see.

Sutherland does a great job in this. He really captures what it must be like to be a man who slowly realizes that he is not the man he thought he was.

I got a nice desktop monitor as a gift and was streaming Alien in 1080P the other night.

I'm watching it in detail. "Rewinding" to look at character expressions and film set detail. Not bad for the 70's, as we all know.

So when they were trying to get Kane (John Hurt) back into the ship after the face hugger got him, Ripley says no for quarantine reasons and Ash is at the interior door and opens it anyways letting them in.

Ridley Scott shows a close up of Ash's profile for maybe a second before he opens the door. This dude is not human and Scott gave us a hint. It's a huge plot point later in the movie but on the front end he dropped a tiny clue in there. 45 years and one BlueRay later I pick up on it.
