Thanks.....I watched it too and learned a lot about his style and also some of his movies I wasn't familiar with.....like Sorcerer, Killer Joe, and Cruising.

Didn't know about the "Tangerine Dream" soundtrack to "Sorcerer" either....pretty cool.

Also enjoyed Tarantino's recollection of Billy's response to the Gays' outrage of "Cruising"......He loved it! :)

And the segment on the money making in "To Live and Die in LA'.....the secret service breathing down their neck....how much went into the technical aspects of this part. And to listen to Dafoe commenting.....man that was great!

That film has always been a cult classic.......

Finally got around to watching Mission: Impossible. Dead Reckoning Part One this weekend.

Had to watch the movie twice because I couldn't figure out what was going on the first time.
Pretty good, and Cruise does a good job letting all the ladies take center stage. Could almost have been like a Kill Bill if he would have given the car keys to them. But, it's his movie, not theirs.

My favorite, best one is "Fallout." That's hard to beat.

Watched Fallen this weekend. Always enjoy that. Denzel is entertaining and John Goodman is excellent.

Watched Relic last night. Cheeseball stuff but entertaining. The book, btw, is excellent.

Denzel and Goodman...I first thought of 'Flight'.....one of my favorite movies.
Goodmans part as the drug supplier was top notch.
age restricted...so have to click on watch on youtube.

"Marooned" was unreal last night. Even though I've seen it a million times, I still love the whole production, the visuals, and.....what a great cast, as well!

The Silencing on Netflix. A decent thriller...worth watching.

^ Yeah, it's got some flaws, but it's a good watch. The two leads were good.

stevej37 12-05-2023 10:12 AM

^^^ One reason I watched it was because a friend told me that Rayburn starred in 'Game of Thrones' and was very good. (I never watched the show)

I didn't get the significance of the throat scars until the very end of the movie.

Mr. Monk's Last Case: A Monk Movie just released on Peacock. I used to enjoy the series a lot. The movie has very good reviews.

Trivia about It's a Wonderful Life. One of my favorite movies- and the quintessential Christmas movie IMO. Priceless.

On Netflix....Leave the World Behind.
An apocalypse movie with an intriguing story.

^ I thought it sucked in a very M. Night Shyamalan kind of way. 2 hours and 21 minutes to be left in the dark. Good buildup to a very disappointing ending. It's like the writers ran out of gas. Nonsensical sub-plots. No closure.

Agree with the Shyamalan resemblance...esp the weird actions by the animals.
I thought the Kevin Bacon segment saved the movie and provided closure...I don't know how else they could have ended it.

As far as the length...a short nap during the middle helps a lot.:)
Would I recommend seeing it? I think it's worth watching on Netflix.
