Bob K I agree with you on all points. The split guy changes characters, mid sentence. Amazing. Instead of listening to critics, I look for certain actors in a movie. Sam Jackson, Ben Affleck, Denzel Washington, Brad Pitt and others seldom dissapoint. If they do I can switch them off with a click.

Paul Newman..and Robert Shaw at their best. One of the best movies ever made.

The Sting came out just before Star Wars. The Sting was a huge success. I went to see The Sting but it was sold out. Nobody had heard of Star Wars so there were plenty of seats, so why not. That was a real suprise. Had no clue what I was going to see. Pretty funny, looking back.

Two years after 'The Sting' Robert Shaw was cast in Jaws. Unforgettable speech.

Looper. 2012 Bruce Willis movie. Time travelling killers. Whats not to like ?
Also, Secrets in their eyes. Julia Roberts and Nicole Kidman. Solving a 13 year old murder. Not a great movie, not terrible.

THE NEXT THREE DAYS

I love this movie... It would have to be one of the most underrated Movies ever!

"The Enforcer" right now on AMC.

Speaking of "Jaws" - it was on the other night and I had forgotten how fantastic that movie was - and still is.

The edge of tomorrow. Tom Cruise and Emilly Blunt fight space aliens in some future time. Not into alien movies at all. Nearly turned it off 10 minutes in. Then it got good. :D

This comes on later tonight, Rolling Thunder.

A Vietnam veteran who returns home after years in a POW camp, Maj. Charles Rane (William Devane) is treated as a hero, but his family proves to be distant. When thugs invade his home to steal silver coins that Rane received for his service, they mangle his hand and leave him, his wife and son for dead. Rane survives and becomes obsessed with getting revenge. Aided by his loyal friend Johnny Vohden (Tommy Lee Jones), Rane, now wielding a hook for a hand, sets out on his mission of vengeance.

Seemed like it was three days long to me.

This afternoon "The Train" was on TCM. Black and white and just an amazing movie directed by John Frankenheimer.

The Sting came out in 1973 - four years before Star Wars came out in 1977.

Well, there was some movie I went to see that was sold out. I thought it was the Sting but hell, its been 40+ years. Too much alcohol and drugs in the 70s I guess.:D:D
