I just watched Forrest Gump. Don't really know why i haven't seen it before. For me, i think the idea of the film is that there is no "luck". I think Forrest too dumb to get bored, so he just making things done and that's why he succeeds in everything he's doing.

Watched another great John Garfield movie "The Postman Always Rings Twice" with Lana Turner (hubba hubba) and Hume Cronyn.

A little known fact, Alan Reed who plays "Kennedy" the guy who types up the confession and later gets beaten by Garfield when he tries to blackmail him and Turner is the voice of Fred Flintstone and also came up with the phrase "Yabba dabba do!".

Curvature.Strange movie with actors I never heard of, except Linda Hamilton. They all seemed to be good enough. Murder and time travel. Vague story line. Cant really recommend it unless you just want something to watch and time to kill.

Hard Eight. 1996 movie with Sam Jackson and Gwyneth Paltrow and others. Not great, not terrible.

Good comedy with a touch of Sci-Fi for date night with your spouse or long time significant other.

An early Paul Thomas Anderson. John C Reilly and Philip Baker Hall (Mr. Bookman the library cop from Seinfeld) are great in that

Just finished watching "None but the Brave" from 1965. Have seen it quite a few times. Really great WWII drama with Ol' Blue Eyes.

The only movie directed by Sinatra, in fact.

AVA. Jessica Chastain, John Malkovich and Collin Ferrel. J.C. is a killer but the people she works for decide to kill her. Sort of an odd story going on along with this. Not a great movie but I did like it. Comes out in the U.S. A. next month.

The Old Guard. Charlize Theron, not your average superhero movie. No flying or super powers . Five heroes that fight evil and do not die. Pretty good, I think.

"The Firm" on Ovation right now.

Jeanne Tripplehorn.....always liked her!

Spree. Young guy is a Spree driver. like Uber. He is a wannabe internet influencer but that is not going well. His plan is to live stream a day driving and killing riders in his Spree car. It is a movie a 16 year old may think is great. I did watch the whole movie but I could live without doing so.
I tried to watch the Fantacy Island movie but only made about 20 minutes of that.
I also tried the Tax Collector. Latino gangsters in California. I gave that one 20 minutes also.

There are new movies in the theatres. The first in six months. Tenet and new mutants. Has anyone seen either? We going to something tomorrow and can’t decide.

Recent films I liked:

Valerian and The City Of A Thousand Planets. Done by the same guy as Fifth Element. Amazing visuals

The Lobster. One of the most original films Ive seen.

Fandango shows just one theater open within about a 30 mile radius of me. They're showing the same movies, plus Unhinged, starring a seriously overweight Russell Crowe. Looks terrible.
